What is the consensus on low profile roof racks?

Price with shipping is a big factor. Also no side rails as it needs to be roughly the same height as the factory rack to fit in my garage.

I couldn't be happier with my FrontRunner slimline. It's very low profile, and there is zero wind noise except in a cross wind, and even then it's minimal. Fits in my garage with no issues.

I almost went with the Gamaviti rack, they have two that are very low profile and look cool (the expo and the flat). It's WAY cheaper to get to your door, BUT it comes bare metal, so you will have the hassle and cost of getting it powdercoated. Saw a couple in CO and they were slick.

What swung me in the end though was the large number of accessories made just for the FrontRunner. You can get anything that you want pretty much, and it just bolts right into their rail system. Really slick setup. Plus, when I bought mine, it was on sale with free shipping for the rack and all accessories.

Came down to about $250 difference between the two, and I am weak-willed.

He didn't have anymore of the gavimiti racks available and told me at the 100s in the hills that he was gettig more made. I have a set of his brackets sitting in the box in my garage. Very nice quality but I changed my mind on installing the defender rack I bought off of dnp last year.

Really, you could paint it with rustoleum spray paint for a nice finish like I did with my sliders.

This 1/2 rack sounds appealing. Anyone seen one on a 100?

I could cheat it forward a bit if its too close for my 7' shop garage

The 1/2 rack is cool for sure. Plus it leaves the sunroof uncovered. The only thing I couldn't quite figure out when looking was how they handled the rails...

When you install a FR rack you have to remove the plastic and rubber trim that runs the entire length of the roof, then install the FR rails in its place. On the full rack the FR rails cover all of the area exposed after removing the factory trim. Seems to me the 1/2 rack rails would leave a lot of exposed area toward the front of the truck. I guess you could cut/trim the factory stuff and put it back in front of the FR rack? That make sense?

Just FYI, my shop garage at home has a 7' door, fit in there no problem, 2-3 inches to spare.. Your truck is prob an inch or two taller than mine with your combination of lift/tires though...

I am going to go with the 3/4 from gaitviti. ..

I love my full length Gamivti! Tim is a great guy and great to deal with too.

I'm kinda digging the 1/2 rack. It's $300 less, (even after 15% off), I can cheat it forward if that back end hits the garage and hell, to be honest, all I am doing is getting something to be a terminus to this ladder on the bumper.....
