Shush, it's at my house. Not running but was when he parked it. Needs carb work and a total restore. Everything is there and it's a pretty solid truck. No real rust issues.

pics? how long has it been parked?

I am immediately when I get home. It was a harder shift, louder thunk than I have ever had.

not overly worried but concerned as any metal on metal ain't good.
I would agree with checking brakes, rotors but the noise goes away when not on the skinny pedal.....very odd.

im finding a long building and listening to it more after work.

Save us all and please sell it, just not to Mike....

Shush, also check your cat shields. 80s are bad about that, but my 100 has started a metallic rattling sound (but only on acceleration, which made me think of yours). Obviously, that has no connection to the thunk you mentioned, which is most likely the driveshaft Nolen suggested (or a U-joint......or a worn out ring and pinion.....or.....:))

I've fixed the cats david but will check re- tighten them.

does a hunnerd have rear AC vents? I know my 2004 Sequoia did. if so what years?

Yes. Discussed in 100 forum. Its an option on my 99 with 3rd row. 03 or so it bc standard I think (meaning most not all had it)

Mine does the same thing. Every time I take it in for an oil change they grease the chassis including the drive shafts. I have found that when going from reverse to drive that if I stop for a second or two in neutral before shifting into Drive, that the thunk is much less pronounced.

Do you do that when driving? Might be worth checking out.

Ok slight metal on metal noise above 25 mph on front passenger tire. I am now thinking brakes but will report back after an inspection.

Martin thunk comes and gos every few months from not greasing driveshaft

Yeah I know it does. That's how they all seem to be. What I was suggesting just reduces the frequency and severity of the occurrences...at least in my situation.

Roger will try it in the am. It also seems worse when it's cold

After 110,000 miles of semi-reliable service, my AHC system on the 100 is beginning to die a slow death.

I've already replaced two sensors at a cost of around $500 for parts only, and have bled and changed the fluid. Now it seems that my front drivers accumulator or shock is flattening out, and there is no way I'm replacing it.

Thinking i'm going to take it to ACC in Atlanta and let them pull out all the AHC stuff, then install a 2" IronMan.

Shush I read your writeup, which system did you get? Wasn't it the performance with the foam cell shocks, below?

And that's a pretty good price, right?

^ yes good price. I LOVE the lift (ride height, cushion, etc.) I strongly recommend it. Plus Eli (North American sales manager) was great. I bought the down graded shocks and one was busted when they arrived so he sent foam cells. they work great!

wish I was closer and you could drive mine.
