I bought a trailer hitch for the 100. It says to use a torque wrench for some of the bolts. Do you think that is really necessary or just tighten them down good? I don't have a torque wrench and one was $80 at Lowes.

How many ft lbs. do they need to be torqued down?

Are you using an impact or by hand?

I was planning by hand. The bolts are varied: 80,110,130 and 148 lb-ft.

Just tighten them as hard as you can. Screw all that.

No way, on a hunnerd?! That s*** will seize up while going 80mph on the interstates!

Does yours go through a hole in the bumper or underneath the bumper? Either way, I'd just tighten them really good.........and if you want to make sure, I've got a new torque wrench you can use. (BTW, what torque does it call for?)

That is what I thought. To me saying tighten fully would be sufficient, but I guess putting the torque is the company doing a little CYA.

DNP I may borrow the torque wrench at some point just to make sure. It is a under bumper version.

If he can return his, he can have it. If he can't I know what the market is for one. :)

I paid $200. I need to use it in a few weeks so I will keep this one. I appreciate the offer.
