If you are talking about the "gulf states", port installed flares, no. The are bolted on using factory holes inside the wheel openings. Chances are you will have some minor paint damage under them.

Nope, no holes are drilled for the flares. Depending on how old your truck is, you may have fine to deep scratches near the rear door jamb, a outline of them on the paint, or nothing. I removed mine 3 years ago, I can still see the difference in paint color.

My paint was damaged as well but I still think it looks better than with them on. Be ready to use some elbow grease to work that area over really good with some type of paint cleaner. I think I even had to use goof off to get some of the sticky crud off.

I took the flares (S.E. Toyota) off my 2006, 39,000 mile, 100 a year ago. There was/is an outline from the flares. The paint under the flares is good... but after having the truck professionally buffed, there's still an outline where the flares rubbed.

I have removed from 2 of my LCs, both had minor paint scratches. I used a 3M decal/glue remover spray, then compound, then waxes a few times with buffer and looks pretty good, in certain light you can tell they where there. On my bronze cruiser you could really tell there were the dang things, on my white one its hard to tell.

I took off mine and cleaned up the mess. Had to rub with clay bar until my arms almost fell off. A few rub points but the rest came out great.

Its amazing what a clay bar will do when you think nothing will work.
