I am not wild about the front bar, being use to ARB's, but its not bad, doesn't look bad(better then nothing) but it will prolly get replaced with a ARB.
Right after I picked up the 100, mom was checking it out, she said it would look better with the grills(bars) off in front of the headlights........so I took em off and it looked ALOT better, got to love a mom thats a Cruiserhead

Well this weekend I took off the gold emblem and painted them black. I got blisters on my thumbs from rubbing the tape off the body.......used heat, 3M adhesive remover and it still took alot of rubbing. I used the 3M emblem goop to stick em back on. Rustoleum Hard Hat gloss black spray paint.
I think it came out well, at least I prefer it to the gold

The emblems look great. On the license plate frame, I recommend turning it over so it acts like a barrier between your license plate and the LC tailgate. The LC designers did not put much thought into license plate mounting and if you run just the license plate you will have metal rubbing on metal. I ran the license plate this way on the 80 and now this way on the 100.

I've always put two little beads of silicone on the bottom corners of my license plates, both on my old 60 and my current 80.

I like the black emblems on your 100! When I get my 80 repainted I'm swapping all of the emblems for earlier model LC emblems. The 4wd emblem will be replace with one from a 69 FJ55. The Toyota in the grill will be an FJ25 hood ornament. I think I'm going to add 60 series badges to the rear quarters by the red running lights. If I go diesel the rear lift gate will get Turbo D. If I decide to go I force I'll put an IforceV8 emblem on the liftgate. I too have/had the nasty gold. Oven cleaner works pretty well. Although it will peel the chrome off too.

I like your thinkin..........my 80 has sported a fj40 4 Wheel Drive emblem for 8 years
On the 100 I was considering using some fj45 4x4 emblems(the round one that goes on the tailgate) on the rear lower part of of the front fenders.
on the 80 I have played with using fj40 hood hold downs, just haven't done it yet

ANyway why not do a custom plate frame that says:
'My Other Cruiser is a' - on top
'40-45-55-60-80 Series' on the bottom

that is a production symbol form toyota, you will notice it in the casting on the side of your block if you look close enough. if memory serves and was informed correctly it is phoenetic japanese. Now I gotta find my hat with that symbol from jason and I am good to go!

Yep, black pearl or gold were options, but replacement emblems are $200+, new chrome emblems are $100, I was cheap..........spent $10
I have thought of doing a plate like that........but I might have to keep updating it..........maybe if I could make it like a reader board, so I can add new lettering
