Hi,
In my 100 series Landcruiser the "off" light for the height control has started to flash continuously and the height of the vehicle seems to be stuck at "low".
Anyone know what might be wrong?

I'll buy it. Mish was a greedy jerk and wouldn't take my $500.

Now, how's about you being sensible and handing that broken down peice of trash over to me.

What year? My dad has an 03 and I don't think he has that feature. You talking Toy or Lexus, and from the states?

In other markets the LC 100 has it because you won't find a LX 470. Like Germany. Here in Thailand we have LC100 with it and we have LX 470 with it. So sometimes it is a bit confusing.

[/quote]Hi,
No, the level of the fluid in the reservoir is fine.

NA market landcruisers don't have that feature, just the LX470. On many overseas rigs like in Japan, both the LC 100 and LC Cygnus (LX470) have it, standard. Here, they make you pay the extra $15K for a LX470 for the feature. There, you get it and you pay $10-15K less for your rig than you would in the US, and have your choice of the TD or V8.

The difference is, here, the LC is a status vehicle. In overseas markets, its more of a workhorse vehicle. Those who want a luxury vehicle can still buy the LX470.

dominic, what is the temperature in Ireland at the moment? The active height control will operate more slowly and possibly not at all if the vehicle is in reasonably frigid temperatures. My manual relates this to temperatures below 20deg. Fahrenheit so perhaps it is not happy with the cold weather. The fluid is supposed to be changed but has a reasonably long lifespan. If your fluid is the original fluid, perhaps it is nearing the end of it's life expectancy? You've already ruled out a leak.

I've only had my light flash at me once and that was when I had a 5,000 pound trailer attached to the vehicle. It flashed when I turned the vehicle on but I turned depressed the button a few times and the system kicked in and automatically leveled the vehicle correctly.

Hi Tad,
When the problem occurred, it was about -3 Centigrade.
As I said, it is now working well. (Did nothing to it).
I will take your advice and change the fluid.
Thanks! Dominic.

That's it, I am pissed! I offered you an easy and affordable $750 for the truck but no, you would not bump it up few pennies, you cheap bastard!
