What state are you in? I haven't seen a school nurse in a school for over 20 years. One of the first things to go with budget cuts.

I am in Upstate NY - state law requires the children to have a nurse at each public school - and it is REALY needed. I can't even imagine how many kids here would not live thru the school year without an RN on premisis and a cell phone to dial 911.

i loved my school nurse in NY...i used to make up the biggest bs just to get out of class/go home. Always worked.

I am an Engineer at the fire department. I get to drive around in a 47,00 pound pumper with 3 other guys for 24 hour shifts every third day. We work in a pretty busy area, so we try to make the best of it by having fun and being safe while providing the best service possible to the folks that call 911 for our help.

On my days off, I am a dad and like to get on the water with a board and big kite. (kiteboarding)

Oregon is beautiful country, I bet you love it up there !

I must extend a sincere thank you for being in public service .. Without guys like you , well... my house could burn down or I might even bleed to death before I made it to the hospital ..

Damn.. THANKS !!

BTW... have you ever considered joining a commune ? ;)

I am in middle management at the largest electric utility in AZ....I work in meter operations and automation insfrastructure....

I would be in for the move to Landcruiserville, USA...somebody here needs to buy the land..I'll lease a spot..:D

in december hopefully ill be a certified EMT so i can help steve with our communes 911 response system :D

ok, so we have someone who has the land, firefighter/medic to help save people. We have a missile engineer to build out defense systems, a utlities manager to help with our power supply. What else will we need?

No... BUT I AM NOW !!

This SHTF commune is coming along very nicely !

FYI.... No-one has to worry about bringing the alcohol, as I have been stocking up on large quantities of hard liquor for about a year now to use as barter, fuel, antiseptic.... and most importantly, COPING !!

Sign me up for the electrical stuff. I was an electrician in another life...

Sounds perfect... do you have plenty of water ?

Now we just need someone who has experience with building 25 foot-high containment walls to keep the un-invited out ... ;)

Yep, got two criks and plenty 'o well water...

i know we are kinda joking around here, but it really seems like a great idea....one day we will do it, one day.

Yes, first things first Loud... You still have a Baja race to run ! ;)

Me....

Been in the U.S. Air Force for the past 14.5 years. (Woo hoo. 5.5 to go for retirement:D) Lived throughout ASIA for the first half of my time then in the States. Recently lived in India as part of the Defense Attache' Office of the U.S. Embassy there (Glad to leave). Now I'm at the same office in a beautiful South American Country living the dream.

I drive one of 4 LC 100's through the week 14 miles round-trip for work. I'm taking the HARD one today!:grinpimp:

The race is 1400 miles this year. It is ending in Cabo instead of LaPaz.
I wish anyone venturing down there the best of luck! That is one heck of a race. First you get dehydrated driving for 1400 miles, then you get dehydrated from drinking a bunch of tequilla and Pacificos.
Man I wish I had made better vacation plans for this Fall. I would drive down if I could.

Let's just say that I am familiar with 4wd

Were you as annoyed as I was when Clarkson gave the LC a pass because of the COLOR when they debuted the Range Rover on Top Gear?

Many children come to the school nurse's office - some are even sick! Just part of the job - I try to give the kids a safe place to be so they just don't get fed up and drop out of school. It seems to be working well so far.
