Came across this one with 200k miles for $12.9k. Interior and body looks mint, but who knows about the bottom and salty Chicago its whole life. Checked its Lexus service history and looks maintained to the T. Things I saw in its lengthy lengthy history were:
-PO seems to go through a battery every 12-18 months.
-Coolant loss at some point, no mention of overheating though. Just that it caused a lot of smoke. It sounds like heater T broke, that's a HUGE job though if dealer replaced the Heater core along with it.
"SERVICE: ENGINE
DESCRIPTION: ENGINE ~|~CAR LEAKING FLUID AND SMOKING ~|~TECH FOUND HEATER CORE AND CONNECTOR BROKE OFF ~|~REPLACE HEATER CORE AND CONNECTOR"
-PO has gone through more tires from nails, that I've gone through pairs of shoes in the past 10 years.
- Steering rack is leaky, and one CV is leaky. This was noted on the service history before owner traded it in. Steering rack + CV + timing belt is probably what drove the owner to trade it in. No problem though for someone who does their own work and labor.
- No accidents, 1 owner. Interior legit looks mint and brand new!
I would go look at it, but not during COVID-19. If the bottom looked okay and was surface rust only, I'd use the steering rack and CV to see if dealership would take $11.5. Could possibly be a great deal for someone else! If you do look at it, snaps some pics of the bottom. So that way I can know and have regret I didn't get it, or that it was a good idea to stay at home.
