Howdy Fellow Cruiser Heads!
So a few months back the wife and I decided to move from SoCal to TN in search for a better life for our son. SoCal has been home to us both since birth but unfortunately with cost of living and the politics we escaped to a free and beautiful state. In preparation for this move we sold off a ton of items which included my wife’s 2019 Tahoe. We picked it up right before Covid and with the move we wanted to cut payments down so we made the hard decision to sell it and we pretty much broke even. I’ll call that a win.
Now after being officially moved and only having our LX470 (1.0) we decided to look for another set of wheels. We originally were trying to save money so we were looking to stay in the $8k and below and found a few “clean” 3rd gen 4runners. After getting more photos of the undercarriage I came to the conclusion older east coast Toyota’s without rust we’re unicorns. With time running out (me starting work downtown, wife works currently from home and our son goes to daycare) we had to have a second vehicle. So a little more thinking and seeing a LX570 on the freeway the wife was sold so I started the search.
I found a few options but one really caught my eye and it was “close”. What we found was a 2011 LX570 premium, pearly white, 159k, 3 owners (Corp deal supposedly), no accidents and a clean carfax. Rig overall was in great shape for its age and amount of owners. It’s missing a few things, antenna for the GPS cover, remote and headphone for the DVD player and the tires have seen better days. I should have some good discounts with work so I’m not overly worried about those as they can be replaced as needed.
So after a little back and fourth with the dealer we got our check and headed down this AM from Nashville to Atlanta to pick it up. The wife is beyond thrilled on how it drove and claims it’s her favorite vehicle so far. I will say I am a both jealous and excited as I am about wrapped up with 1.0 which means I can start working on 2.0.
I unfortunately never made a build thread for 1.0 but I will try and keep this updated with any updates and trips.
Build idea for this might twin 1.0 within reason but the wife will be picking out most of the mods as I want her involved as much as possible. This also means I can stretch the budget when possible because in the end it’s for “her” rig!
