First, a big thanks to Bob - TRD48176 - who set the tone with his Resto a couple of years back...
forum.ih8mud.com
He generously donated his time to chat with me in depth about my rust issues. Like too many on this forum, the kill-joy of the 4th gens is this parasitic rust issue that eats our frames and shortens an otherwise lengthly life span for many great rigs.
Here are some pictures of mine...
The question is: any recommendations on an east coast person/shop that could perform the quality and depth of work that was seen in the Bob-o-licious Resto that was executed to near perfection...
If I'm going to spend the money to completely restore the frame (acid bath, patching, e-coat, etc.) I want it done like Bob's.
Anyone know "a guy" or shop that will do it right?
Thanks,
Jon
'06 4Runner Frame Resto
My 15 Year old S.E. Michigan 4R frame needed some TLC. After removal, surgery, a short acid bath, new e-coat and a few quarts of Rust-Oleum Tractor Enamel, looks almost good as new.
