Looking to buy...can feel the center diff engage but the light flashes...vsc stays solid.

Probably the actuator moving but not actually fully locking. Ask if they have a service record to see if they replaced the actuator seal and it could have been done improperly.
Also, see if the tires scrub when engaged to see if it really is.
