I’ve recently become very interested in a 100 series and appreciate all the information on this site. Given how thorough most folks are on this site, I’m sure you’ve seen the listing below.

It's not too terrible, but for the asking price, that undercarriage has to be spotless. This is a $20,000 truck at best

Undercarriage. I mean, if it was 8-10k or something crazy I would consider it. Since you live in Texas, you will have no trouble finding a completely rust free clean cruiser. As someone stated earlier, I would rather have a clean one with good up to date maintenance records with double the miles for the same price. Think about it this way, that will never be a clean cruiser. Have you ever had to work under one that looked like that? I wouldn't want to, especially at that price.

I understand the desire of owning a low mileage 100 series. But the LC/LX attraction is their dependability and nostalgia, hence the page on this site where people post their high mileage odometer pictures. I saw one with 777,777.

So I’d prioritize rust (or lack thereof) and try not to get overly fixated on miles. The rust isn’t going away...so you’ll have to deal with it IF you ever decide to sell it. Just my 2 cents.
