long time listener, first time posting... I've searched the threads before posting, I hope I'm not that guy... anyways, I have an 05 with 130k, great shape. All fluids changed, hoses replaced, T's replaced, etc. Never had a problem with overheating, driving mountain passes here in Colorado. I noticed on one of my trips that the coolant was right below the "LOW" level in the reservoir. So I filled it up, and drove for a while, then I noticed that it was low again, you know the story. Anyways it only seems to be leaking when she's sitting? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Timing belt and pump were done at 110, I don't know if thermostat was replaced?

Thanks in advance!

If you're not overheating, it's not the thermostat. If it is leaking on the ground, you're going to have to track down the source of the leak. It could be something as simple as a small heater hose or as complicated as a head gasket. If it is not leaking on the ground and appears to be just "disappearing", you are burning it and odds are it's a head gasket leak. Last summer, my 03 started losing coolant at 120K miles. A pressure test revealed a head gasket leak between cylinders 4 and 6, with coolant leaking into both. I replaced the head gaskets, water pump and timing belt. Now I'm good for another 13 years....

Coolant reservoir has cold and hot fill line. Fill to cold line when cold (cooled overnight). When engine at normal operating temperature coolant will expand, raising to hot or near hot line. If you overfill, excess will blow off (out of system) when hot. Once you've checked that all air has self-bled out of system, by filling to cold line each morning (usually three mornings), it should hold the cold line.

Were OEM Toyota parts used when you did timing belt/water pump? You could have a bad water pump that is weeping. It all crusts up by the weep hole and will normally not make it to the ground. Take a look around that area to see if you see any pink fluffy looking stuff. Some times its easier to stick the phone up into the crannies while recording and then look at the images.

Start simple and check all the hose clamps. I had the same issue and it was a clamp on the upper radiator hose.
