i am not having any problems with the unit except I can not enter destination info into the gps. Also, the maintenance information is not accessible. I can see the buttons on the screen but they won't work when i touch them. What would cause this and how can it be fixed. Thanks

You're not moving, right? Just checking...

No I am moving. it won't allow me to input a destination address or access the maintenance menu.

The touchscreen does work though, just can enter some functions - gps destination, maintence menu etc

You realize the system won't let you enter destinations whilst moving? Just want to clarify. You can, however, temporarily override this function, search "GPS nav override" and you"ll get the steps to access the hidden menus via the touchscreen. The speed input to the nav system can also be "fixed" for a permanent override too.

The easiest repair I've ever made - put it in park!

....BTW I am a fairly new Land Cruiser owner coming over from a Wrangler. I was riding with a friend in his Land Cruiser that he had just bought that morning on a 12 hour ride home when we discovered this "problem".

The Land Cruiser is a fantastic vehicle compared to my Wrangler. In fact , the Wrangler mostly just sits in the garage since I bought the Land Cruiser.

Thanks for the help with this.

Im not able to find info for permanent override.
Do you by chance have a link to the mod?

There's two threads in the stickies under mods, they discuss overriding through the touchscreen and managing the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) input to the nav unit.

It doesn't even have to be in park. It's based on vehicle speed, so if you're stopped at a light (or even just barely inching forward) you can access the destination buttons.
