For Sale 04 lx470(cheap)

Let me start by saying that I am new to the forum. I have been looking for about 6 months for an LX and possibly a GX. The vehicle below is one that I nearly bought and figured I would pass the info along to the group.

It has a large amount of rust(in my opinion), so I didn't buy it. The AHC is absolutely trashed, everything else seems like it could be reworked. The paint did have blemishes. Car fax is clean. This can be had for 9k-10k maybe less. I was prepared to pay his full price, and he told me not rust. I show up and didn't even make an offer nor did I drive it. He basically asked me what I thought it would cost to finish and rework and I just blasted him at 4K+. He practically begged me to make an offer of 9k. He is selling for his aunt, who is from Vermont. Nice lady, but the the vehicle was neglected a bit.

I have a baby on the way and didn't want the project, no matter how good of a deal.

what parts of the truck were rusty?

Basically the entire underside of vehicle. It wasn't crumbling away but it seemed thick. The AHC globes/ components were so covered in thick rust you couldn't even see the actual part. The part beside the globe showed remnants of seeping fluid. There was 0 fluid in the AHC reservoir. The pics also show mint interior, it wasn't maybe 7/10. No rips but it was just dirty and worn. Outside has some weird brown spots and decent size ding/dent on back bumper

Also had a not so great service history, they did have it "tuned up" last year. I called the shop they said plugs wires fluid etc. but no timing belt replacement yet, even though he swears it. Course not until I brought it up. Would be a sweet little project I think. Wasn't ever services at Lexus past 50k, then it was independent or jiffy lube.

Anybody pull the trigger on this? Curious what others thoughts were. Still new to assessing the condition.
