03 Rear A/C comes on by itself?

About once or twice a month the rear a/c just comes on? Anyone experience this? When it does I turn if off at the front control and doesn't do it again until a few weeks later...

I have the same problem on my 03'... Comes on once a week by itself. Haven't figured it out...

I have the same problem in my 03. Sometimes it will come on a second time after 10 minutes. Then 3 months or so of nothing.

This is too funny, my 03 does the same.

Mine comes on sometimes once or twice a week, then it will go without doing so for a month or two.

Fortunately it's as simply as pushing the button when it turns on, it is annoying though.

From the sound of it this is strictly a 2003 issue??

there's an auto button on the second row cieling control. i haven't checked in the manual but if that's pushed would it go on automatically to adjust temps to whatever it's set at?

Every once in a while I have the same experience on my '99. So far it hasn't become a big enough PITA to spend time on it...but it is strange nonetheless!

It shouldn't if the switch on the center stack is off.

my 03 does the same thing. I've turned the 2nd row controls to manual and it still randomly does it. sometimes it will go months without doing it

Actually the rear seat controls the rear air.... That button on the center stack is to override the system. But you can easily override the override from the back seat.

had this happen on my '03 for the first time last week. Thought it was strange but didn't think much of it. Rear control is set to manual.

My sense here is that the switch in the rear has a failure or the switch interface at the center ECU has a fail.

Same thing on our '03. Seems completely random. I convinced the kids that the truck's haunted so they changed its name to Casper.

Awesome, I just now checked back on this post...so we hare all part of a special 03 owners club were the rear a/c comes on whenever it feels like it ! I feel better knowing I'm not the only one ! happy Memorial Day weekend everyone
