We took the 03 GX home for Thanksgiving. The vehicle did very well and returned via the on board computer, 19.5 mpg on the highway at 70 mph. Is that correct or is the computer a little overly ambitious? The GX is just really nice and has tons of details that the 100 can not touch however I still prefer the heavier less optioned 2000 LC.

What is the best place to discuss the GX, ih8mud seems kind of quiet on the GX.

Every OBC that I've run into were all overestimating the MPG by ~2. ie. My friend's 05 4Runner was getting 23MPG (all highway) according to the computer, but it was really at 20-21MPG according to the gas pump.

As far as forums....maybe Tundrasolutions? They've got the same engines, so maybe you might be able to at least get some answers about your powertrain. I don't think there are any heavily trafficed forums for the GX, because 99% of them are driven by soccer moms. :)D kidding....but at the same time, serious).

Yeah, the gx belongs to my wife. No soccer yet, but plenty of tennis and ballet.

My BMW and Acura mpg readouts were/are both spot on, never had a Toyota with mpg readout though. That does seem to be better mpg than I would expect. Just fill it up, reset the readout and then manually calcuate your mpg at your next fill up, and compare with the readout.

Yep the GX and 4th Gen 4Runner are both 1-2MPG optimistic.

Try clublexus for the normal Lexus talk or toyota120 for more technical talk about the platform. The GX shares the same platform as the 4th Gen 4Runner, Prado120 and FJC (somewhat). Which is a good thing as it opens world of possibilities regarding the running gear, suepsnsion, chassis, etc.
