Has anybody installed the larger and stronger driveshafts from the 2003+ UZJ100's into the 1998-2002 models? If you have, what are the pros and cons?

1998-2002 driveshaft diameters were 54.0mm for the front and 65.0mm for the rear.

2003 onwards had driveshafts with 65.0mm (front) and 75.0mm (rear) diameters as well as stronger U-joints.

Any reasons why Toyota would have upgraded these?

Lower 1st gear of a750f makes for more torque.

I think it's a non-issue, unless you have money to burn.
