Wanted 03-06 100 series in or near CA

Hi,

I have been looking for a while, hoping to find an 03-06 (side air is needed now that I have 3 kids...) from someone on here... not many of these around and those that are (craigslist, autotrader etc.) seem to be at random dealers and not from actual owners or that have maintenance records and some trust. I live in Northern CA but would travel a bit for the right vehicle.

Hey SF,Im' always looking and I can let you know when I see one.

There is one that keeps popping up on CL in San Bruno,a 03 or 04 w-like 76k.But the guy is sketchy at best,we looked at it and it was really nice.The guy flaked on meeting us to buy it a few days later after we looked,we were super bummed! I just don't know why it still pops up for sale? He wanted around 27 or 28k.

Use the CL search thread,I always enter "Land Cruiser",then "Landcruiser" and you can pick what areas of CA. you want to look at.There are always alot in LA.

I have been using the craigslist utility, it is an excellent tool that makes it easy to quickly search across the state.

The car in San Bruno is one that I noticed as well... the guy is nice enough but there were a number of inconsistencies that scared me off. The price changes in each post, the mileage changes and he is not very responsive for someone who is listing their car for sale, though he did tell me he is a limo driver and works odd hours. I did do a check with carfax and autocheck and it looks good, has had regular maintenance at toyota dealership in san bruno etc. I was thinking I would have a mechanic check it out and go from there as it is exactly the car I want. The price is a bit high at 27/28k and the sketchy aspect of his behavior gave me second thoughts so I never went to see it. I just wish he could be cool but a part of me wants to have a good mechanic look at it and see what they say.

There is another one at a dealer in the east bay, but it is an 01' - so no side or head airbags. It has been for sale for a couple weeks at 19k and I bet he would take less... seems like a good car for someone out there.

Hey SF,I would for sure hold out for the 03 and up models.LOTS of power - after driving an 80 for 10 years!!

Really nice ride,we got ours through Carmax.It came from Austin,TX.&they shipped it to Modesto,CA. for $599.I would recommend them as they have good prices and can ship from all over at a good price.
