02 LC, I bought a blank key on ebay and have it cut by toyota dealer. Try to follow the steps posted by member and can not get it to work. These are the steps....
Add Duplicate Key
1. Simultaneously depress and release brake and accelerator pedals 1 time.
2. Insert existing master key into ignition.
3. Within 15 seconds depress and release accelerator pedal 5 times.
4. Within 20 seconds depress and release the brake pedal 6 times and remove key.
5. Within 10 seconds insert new key into ignition.
6. Within 10 seconds depress and release the accelerator pedal 1 time.
7. After 80 seconds new key is registered and security light goes off.
8. Remove new key and depress and release brake pedal 1 time.

Any sugestion will be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure I did that same sequence and it worked on the first try. I programmed two keys, and they were both fine with that method. Maybe you are turning the key to on or acc? You aren't supposed to do that, just literally insert the key in. That is one thing I can think of that I found confusing.

I also used the instructions on the FAQ page. The first time it did not work because I did not know what flashing light I was supposed to look for.

Start a new thread with a title giving some indication of the topic and a person knowlegable and experienced in the issue may see your question and try and help out. Very few people read every thread.

I personally don't have any experience reprogramming keys. The above FAQ link is a good start.

I just bought a '99 a couple weeks ago, and ordered a key online too. Using the above instructions, I was able to get the key to start just fine, but was provided a second set of instuctions to program the remote entry. Are you having a problem with the remote entry or with everything?
