From a truck I parted out. The ring and pinion inside are damaged. I am not sure the condition of the differential but I believe it to be serviceable. Bearings are good probably could use some new seals. $200 + shipping.
I told my mechanic to change my differential oil. He inspected it and "saw there was no water in it" and told me it's a waste of money to replace it. He told me if it was his vehicle, he wouldn't do it. I asked him how often he recommends I replace it then and he said every 30k to 40k miles...
Hi,
I replaced an old hose - see picture (Differential Pressure Control PN 95337-06020), with standard fuel hose (NBR/PVC SAE30R7).
Should I be worried about it? Does this hose require higher standards?
Thank you!
I’m looking for one like this in good working order. I can prob just throw a speedy sleeve on mine but would like to do it right if possible. This a course spline with 8mm bolt holes.
Here’s what I’m looking for .
I recently tried to tighten up these loose fasteners (the nuts seemed to almost be unthreaded) at the bottom of my front differential.
Now they are weeping gear oil.
Are the nuts just screwed to studs that are threaded into the axle housing? Or are they some kind of special fastener?
If I...
I always thought the differentials and gear cases (transfer excluded) were indestructible.. is it normal a 40 rear differential can get so much wear the teeth will break?
Hi all,
First post from a new member. New to me 2006 GX470 cv axle has a loose connection at the input to the front differential. I had thought this would be an opportunity to upgrade to a bushing but a bit a question to ECGS revealed to me that these rigs do not use the pesky needle...
I pulled my rear diff lock motor and I mangled the heads of two of the Elocker motor bolts trying to remove them.
I think they’re a 90105-08114. Can anyone confirm the part number or recommend an alternative?
1996 fzj80.
This is them and where they go.
Thanks!
Ok so I have a issue at hand.

Solved - Turned out to be a bad Caliper piston that was rubbing on the rotor. I replaced the rear rotors, pads on both wheels, did a little bit of brake bleeding. That fixed the problem. I did put in a brake noise shim this time so I know if my brakes pads...
Replacing rear diff seal. Part number shows 90311-38028 in my parts book. I have one of those seals but it looks different from what is on mine. First picture is before I remove. 2nd picture is of the part I have. Can anyone tell me if this is correct part? I thought it was leaking but looking...

Trying to reinstall everything from the transfer case to the front wheels. I've had virtually no success finding torque specs for the GX470 specifically.
I'm convinced I'm looking in the wrong places because I cannot find this information anywhere and I cannot be the only person to ever ask...
Looking for a FJ40 OEM Front Axle Differential - Third Member
I can't believe how many of these i have given away or thrown away and now I need one.
Hoping to find one in the San Diego area if possible.
Pic for visual of what I am looking for.
I have a parts truck that has a locking rear diff. My other truck does not have a locking rear diff. How difficult is it to change the rear diff to the locking diff other than changing the pumpkin/center section. Is the truck prewired for this like the AHC or will I have to take all that out my...
Need some suggestions on getting the new Birfields to engage with the splines in the differential.
I greased the axle splines with assembly grease and when I put the locker together I put grease on the those splines before I installed the differential on the axle.
Today I finished the assembly...
2015 200-Series Land Cruiser
About 90,000 miles. Not my daily driver. I drive the vehicle one to two times a week for short distance/duration. I drive the vehicle in L4 for short distances twice a month. I have not regularly used the center differential lock.
Had the four-wheel drive serviced...
