Struggling with what to start saving up for next. I want it to be capable, but it's gotta be daily driveable.

1997 LX450 - factory lockers
OME 2.5"
Slee SS Brake Lines
ARB front
Mile Marker SE12000
A/C Dryer skid-plate
American Racing Mojave 16"
Nitto Terra Grapplers 295 75/16

I would love to hear your opinion...
Godzilla extra small.webp

that would depend on the type of wheeling you are doing...

Sliders and Slee X-fer skid if you take it off-road in the rocks; Engle & drawers if you just take it camping.

Sliders and skid plates. Then a rear bumper and tire carrier.
Cheers,
Sean

Agree, to a degree, with the last three.

How do you intend to use it? The answer to that will dictate your course of action.

Regardless of what you're planning on doing with it, I think sliders and xfer case skid should be next. Whether for rocks or expedition, I see no reason to keep OEM "skid" and running boards on there.

Nice looking rig.

I'd consider removing the running boards, even if you decide not to go with sliders. They are pretty vulnerable and could end up causing damage to your rockers (vice protecting them). Plus the truck looks better w/out them, IMHO.

Remove the roof rack and remove the running boards. Do the tire carrier mod to raise the spare underneath. Add a skidplate because it is relatively inexpensive. Next sliders. I like cheap mods what can I say. :D

Take it and drive it home with me?

The ``tire carrier mod?'' ???
Involves adding spacers (washers) and possibly longer screws to raise the mount for the spare under the truck. It provides a little more clearance.

A search should provide a link or two with pics.

What I would do with YOUR 80 would be to drive the snot out of it....will you kindly provide me with a credit card for fual as well :flipoff2:

DBA rotors and FJ100 pads up front. They really help with the stopping stuff!!

I did a description of this IIRC. Not as valuable a mod as some people think actually, in retrospect, because it only lifts the front of the spare, not the back which is where you'd hit usually.

Lift: check
tires: check
bullbar: check

Now you must trick out the stereo if you really wanna get the chicks.

I would say HORSEPOWER!!! Get a turbo or supercharger and snorkle. Unless you plan on doing some serious wheeling in the near future, then go with the sliders and slee skid plate.
