Well, the tire carrier went on very easily! Even took a piece of aluminum and fabed up an extension for the license plate. Still can't see the last number, but it's better than nothing. Even bolted the little plate light that came with the tire carrier to the plate frame. Drilling and taping the holes was much easier than I thought it would be. Now to collect pennies for the jerry can carrier and a real license plate holder to mount to it! :D

Look nice and shinny :D

You dont need to save for a license plate mount it comes on the jerry can. At least it did on the older ones.

Toyota makes a mount for the plate complete with lights for mounting on the left side. However, if you're going the jerry can route, it's certainly better to mount the plate there even if you have to fab it.

nice job. looks good Brentba. My dad has the same bumper on his cruiser. Really nice design and solid bumper.

Nice installation there Brentbba! Can you please post some side pictures taken from left side view and some right side view, just want to see the distance of that tire carrier against the tail gate. Thanks. Where did you get that bumper?

Kalawang I presme that is your 80 on the ramp? Is that an adjust able Panard Rod what make? I see the Yokahomas are the V directional tread desighn and you are sporting a NATO hitch.

Looks very tidy  I think the one piece bumper helps as it is much better looking than the OEM desighn! Can you see the rear brake / indicator light from behind I guess you shot the photo close up?

Will do - company year end party tonight - but will get to it. Got the bumper thru Man-A-Fre. Drove up there and picked up so no shipping. They are the only distributor in the USA. Anyone else selling the Kaymar new here in the States has purchased it thru them.

Gold Finger - I think it's just the angle of the shot, but I'll have to take a look.

Do plan on the jerry can carrier at some point. Due to the size of the 285 tires, can't see the last number on the plate so may look into a plate hanger for the tire carrier as I don't know how long it will be for the jerry can carrier. I know Kaymar makes one. I drive thru Laguna Beach every day and their police are VERY strict and don't want to risk a stupid ticket to fund Laguna Beach.

Nice install Brent, your rig is looking more aggressive since the last time I saw it. I also plan to get the jerry can holder eventually.

Thx - but I don't have that big beefy front bumper like you have....yet!

Sorry,

I lost this thread for a while and only just now found it again. The panhards are the orange stuff and adjustable. I don't know the manufacturer but assume it was Rancho because they are very popular in Japan.

At the time this photo was taken I was trying to determine if my driveshaft was bent by running some high revs in Drive while up on the lift. It was.

What's a NATO hitch ?

Kalawang

Do you mean the Tow Hook ?

Can you get a rear tire carrier on a stock bumper? It looks likes theres one on the kaymar site.

Yep - check Man-a-Fre's site. I think they run about $400 or so.

IMO it doesn't look as cool, might as well spend more for the rear bumper.

The pintle hitch or tow hook is a NATO type and has a NATO nunber. If one of the pins are removed it allows it too swivel. How on earth did you manage to put a bend in the drive shaft it must have been quite a clout? How do the tyres perform? :bounce: :bounce2:
