Finally mounted all 5 Mickey Thompson Baja Claw Radial Tires... time for some trimming! They are quiet on the road for a mud tire, ride very nice, too... I'm counting on the "bogger light" directional tread to come close to the Swamper Radial in forward traction....

I really like the look and larger diameter of the factory Tundra steelies, they weigh in at about 34lbs each, heavier than the alloy, but lighter than the 40+ pound 80 series steel unit.

Tyler is drooling...haha...

Are the wheels the same as your spare? Do you have a better picture of the wheel on the truck? Like the first pic but closer up of the wheel. Thanks! They look great and I love the look and function of the steelies.

awesome bro...

That 80 is looking sick..Cant wait to see some wheelin pics...

*bjowet that is a great looking tyre I would be intereting to know how good a mud tyre they are say compared to Good Year MT. They look very directional I also think that is the reason why they are quiet! They are a fair bit too big for me though.

What make is the rear bumper and is that a Receiver Hitch going through the bumper?

I might've missed it...but what's the width of the wheel? 17 x ?

Lookin' nice dude! Those tires are a bit sketchy on side hill muddy areas though.

The bumper is my own home-booty fab creation. The receiver does go right through the middle.

The wheels are 17x7.5" wide.

I'll post my impressions on the tahres in a few months.... spring thaw is coming.

Ok , I'm semi-drooling .. ;)

Those wheels have a great industrial look ...

When the pics came up , my jaw went slack , and all I could utter was "Jesusss Christ !"

Thats a good thing .. :D

Enjoy them man .. they look great !

bjowett,
Looks great dude. Hope the lil tyke is doing well. Got some pics of snow winching to email you in the next day or two :D

Remind me again please, you had those rims widened or you cut and welded them yourself? Did you have to trim anything more than the inside lip?

Looks great dude.

Gold Finger - If I remember correctly, that bumper is all custom and the handle for the swing out is an 80's series door handle. I too think its SWEET and hope to get a good up close look at it soon. Great looking work indeed.

Thanks guys.

The little one is awesome... simply put. :D

The rims were not widened, only the offset/backspacing has been changed. A stock Tundra has 5" of backspacing, these rims were moved to 4.25". I did not perform this mod myself, I had a friend at the machine shop cut and tig weld the centers back in.

I forgot to mention he then ran a bead of weld around each outer safety bead. Shaping the bead on the lathe proved difficult, so I took em' home, mounted up a spare spindle/hub in the vise, spun em and had at it with 4.5" grinder, which kept the wheel spinning....and this sentence going and going. A nice semi sharp lip to grab to the tire bead was formed, it sits about 1mm taller than the stock bead... the tire machine will "just" pop them off... after a few tries. Should allow some low pressures to be run on this heavy rig.

Picture of the weld, never snapped one of the completed bead.
