a bunch of cruisers and acouple toyota trucks will be doing a run north of phx .
so far at least 15 vehicles, two or three from cal, and a couple midwesterners.
It's a really cool area , water, rocks etc. They are meeting at the chevron at I-17 and Carefree highway at 8 am. It's an all day ride so bring lunch. Some of us are camping and doing another day of it.

The "LoneWolf" club is hosting. Nah... Just joshin. Not sure but what I got from Dave on Friday at the Cruis-in, was that this is just a group of guys who decided (by way of another board?) to get together for a run. Sounded pretty cool to me but I've already got plans for that night and the prospect of camping is out for me. Depending on how the 40 birf thing goes next week I may try to throw something together out east.

My guess based on the description is Turkey Creek.

the run

actually these guys aren't part of a club, just cruiser people we stay in contact with. we'll be heading west on table mesa thru tip top mine the north toward milk ranch. it loops around south of joe's ridge then east to the top of the range
directly west and in view of sunset point rest area on I-17. then back south it will eventually get back to the corral about a mile south of tip top.
from there some may take the easy way home or opt to go over the mountains due south of tip top to humbug creek putting you on the road from lake pleasant to table mesa.
If you're still full of energy you could go from there to crown king for a beer in the saloon.
that would take two days for all of it. most will do the first day only. .

thursday run

weather may delay this run . yavapai county is expecting up to three inches rain in the bradshaws. this would include the agua fria and humbug river watersheds.
if that much rain actually hits we might be looking at an impassable agua fria for a couple days. the trail also include several water crossings at rock creek and boulder creek ( which was about 20" deep two weeks ago). All of these turn into potential torrents in heavy rain.

A friend in simi valley said rain from this storm in the LA area was a constant 1/2" an hour , enough that even a stretch of I-10 was shut down shortly

Returned from Sedona today. Never seen anything in AZ like it. Every wash, creek and river flooding. Oak Creek over it's banks. New River area was flooding too. Take real care out there tomorrow!

My buddy that was planning a Jan 1 run hasn't emailed me back. I'll email him now, though those who want to run might want to plan on their own. We'll try an make whatever though we can't be "planners" for this one. It would be awesome to go somewhere where it'll be wet! Gila River/snorkel?
