The front short Dside hard line on my 55 (which ahas a later disk axle) was crimped so the Toyota dealership sold me an appropriate length of hard line pre-flaired with fittings. I bent it up and got it into place.
The fittings appear to be the same thread and width, the head is a bit bigger (oddly not quite 12mm) and the threaded part is a few threads longer. Flairs are identical.
What I'm finding is that the fittings doesn't go in all the way, and they are pretty snug....... is this a problem? They are certainly tight, and in probably half of their length. Given they are a few threads longer then the fittings I took off (10mm head) I believe they are "in" about the same amount as the old ones. Hope that makes sense.
Am I doing something wrong? I have inserted over and over and am 99.999% sure I'm not cross-threading or anything.
I read through a bunch of threads but haven't found this answer, some help would be greatly appreciated, I've never replaced hard lines before and don't want to screw it up, thanks.
