i just got a call from a guy at Desert Sun Motors (Toyota dealership in Alamagordo). he is holding a 4x4 event for Cruisers and Toyota 4x4's over the May 26-27, '07 weekend (memorial day). the Toyota FJCruiser Trails Team will be there and he is working with a FS employee to have easy, moderate and experienced level trails. who knows what scale that is and how difficult the 'experienced' trails are. it will be held in the Lincoln County/Ruidoso area. a nice break from summer heat in May. there will be camping and hotel accomodations available and a small entry fee.

as i get more info, i will pass it on. i do have this guy's phone# as well. his name is Brandon. i got the feeling that he started this to target FJcruisers mainly to get people that have bought FJCruisers from him out on the trail. the Trails Team people suggested he call and invite us. he told me he welcomed all the styles of cruisers and Toyota 4x4's.

it could be a good chance for us to see what is available for wheeling/camping down there.

Sounds Excellent!

i'm not expecting a big event like CM or any TLCA event. the guy said he had 5 FJCruiser owners signed up and was half way through his call list. so it sounds like a 20-30 vehicle event max, including us. better than EJS type #'s. :D

Even better. Would this thread be the place to "sign up" - considering we will have limited numbers? I'm in.

I'm out. I'm duty-dude at work that weekend.

i will get the sign up info at a later date. when it comes available, i'll post it up here and we can see who can make it.

Thanks for bumping this. The tread over at the FJ forum mentioned that HDC was involved, but I'd not seen this thread before. I'm interested in going.

I'm planning Moab that weekend...

Change Moab to the first weekend that month...

Is that CM?

The first weekend in May is a NM TTORA run in Farmington...too many choices.

It's awesome to see so much wheelin' goin' on in the SW

Just got this today:

"I have attached the document and registration form. Please print it and fax
back to me at 505-437-4587. The trails are going to in and around Ruidoso.
We are hoping to have a few advanced trails, but the way it is looking it's
mostly scenic and intermediate. If you would like to contact me please feel
free to call. Thank you.

I put the file on the Yahoo site, maybe Jon can pick it up and put it on HDCruisers.org

The thread that Nathan posted has a link that includes a printable version of the registration form.

Definitely - If you want to print it out and send it via FAX or snailmail. The .doc file you can fill out and email.

The registration form doesn't have an e-mail address. The "flyer" that Nathan posted doesn't have an e-mail address. You're the only one that has it and apparently it's a secret. Can you post it up or would you like me to beg? :D

I had to join the FJCruiser list to get it. It's brandon_dsmtoyota at hotmail.com

We're in. I'm going to get registered for it today. I'm looking forward to retiring my P.O.S. Coleman tent and breaking in the REI Base Camp 6 I bought on Friday on this trip. I spoke to Neil (Brandon was on vacation last week) and he claimed that the entire RV Park is reserved for this event and it will act as the base camp and mustering location.
