The a343 works really well with the toyota D2 ATF, dexron 3 is as good. Once its starts shuddering and doesn't get fixed by an ATF replacement - it needs to be repaired
if you didn't have any vibrations from the rear prior to the lifting of the vehicle, I would use the original DS with OE u-joints, get the shaft balanced and try again
aftermarket u-joints do not perform really nice sometimes
Yes - it was the timing chain not installed correctly - the mechanic at that time who checked and confirmed that the timing was ok, was wrong.
timing chain was installed and the engine was timed correctly - it ran very nicely afterward.

its basically a metal sheet cut in a circle and coated with rubber,
cut a round plate with a diameter similar to the bearing cone, from a 0.15 mm tin sheet. install that plate then press the cone.. you'll need to use thinner preload shims
I'll dig a picture or take some on the next job.. this is a diagram from the Nissan fsm for an idea
If you have ever worked on a Nissan Patrol y60, you'll see Nissan used a very thin metal plate under the trunnion bearings - basically the plate goes in first, then the bearing cone is pressed on top - once the bearing is greased and installed that plate doesn't let the bearing grease leak in to...
also to remove the upper cap, use two similar levers of some sort on both sides of the cap,
1- tap it back down
2-then use identical levers on both sides and gently pry it out
hub looks reusable
spindle and cv joint should be replaced
bearings from the upper and lower arms need to be cut or heated to remove after such failure
remove the center console / area around the gear shift lever - i have had two occurrences where gauge fuse would pop due bunch of wiring messup in that area -
also try disconnecting the PNP switch and see if that sorts it out
I usually add a small bulb to such intermittent problematic circuits so that when they act up its quick and easy to diagnose, because when it acts and by the time you are ready to diagnose, the problem heals itself
