Thank you. An 80 with only 80 is pretty rare these days. I've seen people asking over 15k for them with that low of miles. Congrats and enjoy that thing. The value is only going up.
I'm going to have to agree with this. In my case, with the particulars of this wreck, I think I would have fared much worse with a roll cage present depending on its placement. If it was at the top of the drivers side door and down the a-pillar it could have been fatal. Plus, I am truly amazed...
I saw many 2008s in the 32-35K range with 70-90k on the clock. I waited awhile to pull the trigger on this one. They had it listed at 30K and got them down to 28K out the door.
Hello mud,
I posted this in the 200 section as well but thought the 80 guys might like the story as well.
This story is a testament to the strength of these vehicles. I have a '94 80 that has carried me and my family everywhere. We've put 275K miles on her and she has never once left us...
Big thank you to Darkness and FirstToy. Did this charcoal canister rebuild today and it worked perfectly. I used JB weld putty to seal, not quite as pretty of a job as those that have come before me. Essentially, you can just pinch the seam back together and I'm pretty sure it would hold up...
No, got em from a retail Discount tire store; needed to have a physical person to haggle with. Goodyear store actully quoted me the lowest and I took that to DT and they matched it and threw in the road hazard replacement. Anyone know a way to get 285 Duratracs cheaper?
New Goodyear Duratracs - 285 75 R16 - really liking these. First of all, on a stock 80, 285 is the perfect size - no problems, no rubbing. Got a great deal at 218 a tire and road hazard replacement thrown in for free from Discount tire. List was 254 a tire. Proves you really can talk em down...
After watching so much discussion about radiators, I thought I would add my recent experience going from a Koyo 1917 to a CSF 2715.
First up Koyo. 7 years ago I had to replace the rad in my '94. Went on EBay and luckily chose the Koyo - this was prior to my exposure the excellent advice of this...
Put the HCV back on and ended up shattering both tubes because they were so brittle. Looks like I'll be getting a new one anyway. I'll look at the cable adjustment. Thanks for the comments.
I can't seem to fully shut off the heat in my truck when the temp control is all the way to the cold side. So under the advice of fellow mudders, I've pulled the HCV to take a look. First shot is in the open position. Second is in the closed position. It doesn't look like it ever fully closes...
I've been watching this for a couple days. You can clearly see where it's leaking from in this photos. What is weird is that the coolant has gelled. I've never seen that before. What causes that?
Aim, after watching the leak, it appears be coming from the area of the top shorter arrow you added to my pic. It looks like it's leaking from the backside of that pipe as it joins the water pump housing. The coolant then drips down and pools in the area where you see it in the photo. If you...
