Finally got around to installing and testing the Ostrich Wing Awning from @RuggedBound. This thing is solid, even in a fairly constant 15-20mph wind. 1 minute to setup, maybe 2 minutes to put away. So nice to not have to deal with my 10x10 canopy from HF anymore.
Plugging @NLXTACY's power distribution post(s). Probably super overkill for most applications, and maybe a bit outdated regarding components (I think BlueSea is still the go-to for fuse blocks, not sure how far inverters have come) but a lot of gold in those threads.
I used this as a rough...
So I went and broke one of the exhaust manifold to y-pipe studs, and there's absolutely nothing to grab/weld to. I've never really dealt with this before, so I'm turning to the experts before I try anything stupid...
Was there an email sent out for those of us who are picking up in HTX? I didn't receive one. Also @RuggedBound I sent you a PM about adding a 50L titlting fridge slide, but it probably got lost in the shuffle. Let me know what my next steps should be. Glad to hear people really like their kits!
Thanks for the info! Maybe manifold back isn't the right descirption, the OEM manifolds are stock and have not been removed. The stud that is broken is the one connecting the maniflod to the y-pipe. Here are some better pics..
This is great to see! For the customers that will be picking up at the HTX location, should we expect to wait until you have all your orders organized/loaded? I was anticipating just showing up with my 80 and throwing in the drawers/etc. Is that something that we can do?
Hey guys..
So a few months back, I had a local muffler shop install my new header-back exhaust. I noticed that it didn't sound exactly right (like a leak), and decided I would tackle that in the future. Well, that day came, and I noticed that the front-most flange wasn't fully seated. So, threw...
Jesus, this is a non-running (with the diagnosis of..."locked"?) 200k+ mi 97 with all that rust? I'd say $1k for you to keep it as a parts truck for a different truck you'll find later, and even then taking anything off is going to be a headache (interior looks decent though). I'd walk. In the...
I used 3M aluminium tape about 4 years ago, and it's held up great in the TX heat/weather. Make sure to clean the area well with isopropyl, and double up on and larger holes. The adhesive on this tape is crazy. Some day I'll monstaline over them, but today is not that day. I also have an LX...
Filters for my diff breather extensions (these specifically). Going to make a more permanent mount for them at some point, but for now they are just secured there with a ziptie.
Relay box mounting holes drilled/protected (ignore the, uh, other small hole), and box mounted and operational. I dig it, and now all I need to add a new accessory is to mount it and throw a weatherpack connector on it.
Made some progress on my electrical upgrade..
First ripped out the OEM sub/CD player (LX gang) to make room for my distro/fuse box. Also removed the rear heater (already did the bypass years ago) to make it easier to mount my sub amp.
Turns out the Boss amp died after I put everything back...
