    original?

You'll have an experience either way you go that's for sure. Give this truck a view. Although it's not 100% stock, it's pretty near and only a year off from yours. I restored a 68 and loved every bit of the experience. I learned a lot about these trucks in the process on how things were...

    1970 FJ40 restoration

This is exactly what I did to my 68. It was too complete to cut up. Good luck on your restoration. Done right, it'll be worth lots.

    Couple quick paint color questions...

I got a kit from ccot paint/reducer/hardener. A trip to Harbor Frieght for an inexpensive HLVP sprayer and I was a painting fool. Easy to do. There is lots to spray bumperetts, stuff on the dash, front bumper, windshield wiper motor, seat rails... Rattle cans would be nice though. I...

    Couple quick paint color questions...

Black or flat black. New OEM tanks are that color. Silver (pewter) straps. If you want the stock colors that is.

    Throttle, choke cable lube

Diesle is good too. Basically anything that cleans and then lubes. I just happened to use 90w gear oil. My cable was the metal type with a solid core so I just wiped it down and installed. Good to go. What ever you use you'll forget about it shortly cause it'll just work.

    Throttle, choke cable lube

WD40 works in a pinch. During my rebuild I completely removed them, derusted, and stuck them in a new bottle of gear oil and soaked them for like 3 months. Worked great after that! But any petroleum based lube will work. Graphite works too.

For prosperity’s sake…1968 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40LV-B This was my 94.5% stock 1968 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40LV-B. I changed ISP’s and all the posts I’ve made during the build had the pictures ripped out. Over the next few weeks I’ll slowly figure out what picture went where and update my...
