Any chance you can provide more information on that linear actuator and TSM e-Brake. I have a TSM e-brake on my 40 with 37's and 4.88's with 60 split case and the thing barely works even after extensive adjustments to gain everything possible. I'm using the stock FJ40 78' parking brake handle to...
Yes B-pillar to B-pillar, at the top as pictures. Accurate dimensions is requested from the outside to outside of the lip the door seal rests against.
Thanks,
Hi,
Is there anyone out there that would be kind enough to measure their 40 for me. I have a 78 and would like to know what the width is across to vehicle at the top rear corner of the door opening.
Please show me where you took the measurement if you don't measure it as per this sample which...
I have a bunch of seat belts from parts I've bought. I am fairly certain I have a pair of seat belts but now that I look at them they are both stamped TK-7010R on the back of the metal. In fact two of the others I checked have the same marking. Is there supposed to be a TK-7010L?
Thanks,
I have a stretched FJ40 top ordered from Julie but it has been a long wait for it. I need to contact her and see what the new delivery date is before I make any statements here.
My spring looks the same as the image above and the tab welded to the tub (blue) looks the same. My lever arm has a bracket instead of a bolt to hold the top of the spring.
I can see the one above is loose as well. Maybe that is just how it is supposed to be. Thanks for taking the time...
Could someone be kind enough to post a picture of there original 1977 era handbrake lever to show me how the spring is installed. If I place it where I think it goes it is loose when the lever is pushed in. So loose that the spring is almost falling out of the lower tab that is part of the tub...
I'm reinstalling my glove box door (1977) and I can't figure out if the screws that hold the cable are supposed to be tight or loose.
Having them loose would allow the cable ends to rotate and seems like it would be better.
Is there someone out there with an original cable from the factory...
FJ43 would be a good plan but for some reason memory tells me it is 16" longer, i could be wrong. If hardtop I'd recommend looking at the FJ43 hard tops and then devising a plan to lengthen the parts in the places they did it.
You could also go soft top. Julie can customize the length of the...
Hi,
Trying to install my real steel bow kit. My 40 has a bunch of metal replaced so I don't have the necessary holes. Would someone be so kind to measure the hole locations in their OEM tub so I can drill mine in the correct location. The image below is what I was able to find on this site for a...
I'm far from a purist but I think it would be a completely wrong direction to fuel inject it. You have one of the nicer 40's in the country probably, nothing preventing you from getting it working properly, probably for less money and hassle with the carburetor.
Julie (dirtroadtops) for the...
I really like the look of mine. I added 150mm to the wheelbase and the tub. Therefore I still have the short rear overhang of the original 40 but close to the wheelbase of the 43. What I don't have a a side view of it.
The tub cut included making the clearance in front of the rear tire greater...
Too bad I didn't know about this. I'm in Fredericton and could have gotten you a slave cylinder, might have had to resort to taking it off my friends 40 but either way we would have gotten you going. Amazing story, please finish it.
I purchased Toyota turn signals from Partsouq in Dubai. I changed the connector but with only 3 wires one being ground pretty sure I got it right. Anyway the parking light only turns on the top front white light. Turn signal flashes the front bottom amber and the side amber lights. This seems...
For turn signals I bought these part numbers: 81510-69027, 81520-69027. They are 3 wire but I think the only difference is you need to run a ground, possibly just to the fender.
For AC you might take a look at FJCompany to see if you can tell how they do it.
