I took my bumper and rock rails off and had them media blasted. I then took them to a local tractor trailer repair shop, they put some epoxy paint on them. They have a great finish now and all of it was reasonably priced.
I hope you all are happy, you have costs me tons of money on mods and my fj is over 100k now. Beach, mountains etc.
:) I remember a sweet time on the outer banks
BFG A/T KO's. I keep telling myself I need mud's then I go wheeling with everyone who is running mud's and I go everywhere they go. Why do I NEED mud's??
I have 33" BFG A/T KO's when they die I will get another set.
My ex Ones have kick outs too. Regardless of what you get the kick outs are a must in my opinion. They have saved my rig countless times and I love how the rig behaves when you hit a corner tight and the kick outs do their thing.

I have heavies front and mediums in the rear too I did not install spacers or new UCA's. I have a winch, bumper and buds ... my rig does have the lean:)
Midas did mine. Manager said just tip the mechanic and that's what the mechanics suggested. This was after we broke one compressor and had been cranking on another for and hour or so. I had OME heavies.
Definately take the springs to a shop to compress, cost me $20 and saved time and energy. See this for a how to

I have an early fj, number 46xx or so. I am a little concerned each time I go to the woods. Has anyone had any luck getting Toyota to fix the rear ends before you get stranded??
Mike
Like Toledo said. I have heavies up front and mediums in the rear and got ~2.5 and that is with an Ex One bullbar bumper and Superwinch 9000 running synthetic line
Here's a pic of mine with OME heavies up front and mediums in the back

I can't tell you what is better but I have the OME with heavies up front and mediums in back and I am very happy with it. I have an Ex one bull bar bumper and winch too. I have a smooth ride.
