    60 stalls on hills

pulled the top half of the carb off and the float operated within specs, but while i was in there i replaced the air horn gasket, plunger, float needle etc, and gave it all a carb cleaner bath. pulled the fuel filter (which i had never done in 5 yrs of owning the truck) and had to shake fuel...

    60 stalls on hills

Was out last weekend and on the trail. Drove approx.. 80 miles to the location without a problem. Once on the trail, any short but steep hill i'd get a stumble. As the day wore on, it would get worse and worse, with the truck stalling on any (even slight) uphill grade. It would be hard to...

Emission Control System - Amount of Vacuum

I replaced all my vacuum lines about a year and a half ago with the mcmaster carr silicone lines, and i am very sure they are hooked up correctly.... the truck is running horribly. sometimes it won't hold idle, and when it does get going it stumbles sporadically and seems to have no umph. i...

Emission Control System - Amount of Vacuum

Hello All - I'm trying to go through the Emission Control Manual and checking everything out. I tested the Spark Control System at Step 4 - Check BVSV and VTV with Hot Engine. My question is this - What amount of vacuum is considered "high"? My gauge indicated about 3-4 in.Hg, and...

my get up and go got up and went

thanks butt - yes 4.11's should bring it back to stock gearing, but i think the issue is all of the added weight.....just worried that 4.11's would make an 8% difference and that 8% won't be enough....

my get up and go got up and went

i used to have a stock 60, but then i started adding stuff. sliders, front arb, winch, roof rack....all added up and now my get up and go got up and went. the 33's i'm running were fine and i liked the rubber overdrive, but now i'm thinking of dropping in some 4.11's. i don't really care...

    Stuck in "N"

got everything back together and the same issue persists the shifter will allow me to put it into in any gear while not running, but when it is running it will not fully seat into any gear. the tranny mount is broken....and i'll replace it....but now i'm starting to worry.

    Stuck in "N"

ok here's the latest - i replaced the shifter seat, even though the one already in the truck was in perfect shape. no damage whatsoever....but before i put everything back together i started poking around. while i had everything apart and some sunlight, i noticed that the tranny mounts are...

    Stuck in "N"

i just replaced both the master and the slave clutch cylinder. didn't work. the same issue persists. there seems to be no up/down play in the shifter. i'm unable to pull it "up" any, but i did purchase the shift seat thingy and will try that next. i really hope that is it, and not...

    Stuck in "N"

here's the latest. i pumped the pedal a ton of times....i was able to get it into gear, and then i shut the truck off. then it would start, but quickly die. i would have to keep the revs up to keep it alive. (something engaged/stuck to stall motor?) after a while at 2k then the revs jumped way...

    Stuck in "N"

yep. the level is OK. I did the Owner's Manual test of the "clutch booster", and I couldn't tell a difference between the force needed. I did a visual inspection under the rig while my wife depressed the clutch. the clutch lever seemed to only move about an inch, maybe more. the bootie that...

    Stuck in "N"

I'm stuck in my driveway.....but i'd rather it be at home than on the trail. I can't get out of neutral. With clutch pedal to the floor, and trying to put it in any gear, the shifter will only enough to let me feel the gear spinning, but not fully mate. It is most obvious when trying to...

    High Oil Pressure Reading

Seems like no big deal, but my oil pressure guage always reads high. Start it up and it pegs past the H and into the black, and only touches the top of the white when low a quart or more. Never changes due to temp, RPM, or anything else. Swapped out another gauge, same reading. It's...
