Has anyone destroyed an FJ60 splitcase due to high HP/Torque in a v8 or Diesel application? Im curious if a Splitcase can handle being coupled to an np203 and built Cummins 6bt motor. I dont plan on hit KOH with it but tend to have a lead foot at times =).
No we read the Isuzu part just trying to help you out :D. A friend of mine did the 4bd1t in a 60 series. Said it ran well but would have been happier with a 6bt. As the saying goes different strokes for different folks.
well lucky me I have both :). But the 6bt is for my Lx450... I started this 4bt in the frame cutout it came in and it didn't even move. The crazy shakes come from too low of an idle and bad injectors. This is the last 4bt I built. The Isuzu motor is tempting but I'll stick to Cummins :D
Inline pump motors do not have fuel pins. Here is a piece of an article from Dieselhub.com about lowering EGTs.
HOW CAN I LOWER MY EGTS?
If you're having difficulty managing EGTs (keeping them within the recommend limits), you have too much fuel, not enough airflow, or a combination of both...
I wouldnt ever think about not using a charge air cooler with a diesel, this 60 came with one. On the turbo note I would disagree with you. The HE341 and HY35 is a fine turbo to run with mods done to the motor. For a stock setup the hx30 is plenty though I plan on trying out the little guy...
Yes the motor I am looking at using is a 4bta also with the inline pump (P-Pump). Probably try out the hx30 turbo first and if she isnt enough then bump up to an HE341 or hy35. I will also increase timing, fuel plate, gov spring the usual stuff... Should be a pretty fun truck to run once I get...
