    D.U.I hei replacement parts questions

Well nevermind, after double checking everything I forgot to plug in the ignition module lol. Now it's popping and backfiring, so I'll call that a win until I get the timing figured out

    D.U.I hei replacement parts questions

Bought an hei replacement kit from manafre and replaced everything piece by piece and tried starting it. Nothing. Still no spark. Ran a wire directly from the battery to distributor and still nothing. I'm about to part this thing out

    D.U.I hei replacement parts questions

Have you ever tested one, or just look for physical damage? I read that you can probe the wires and it should put out 2-3 volts while the engine is turning over but I'm not sure if that's true. Mine had zero volts so maybe it is the problem.

    D.U.I hei replacement parts questions

I bought an 83 Fj60 a couple of years ago at auction. Its been desmogged (very sloppily) and the hei distributor has a DUI sticker on it, so I'm assuming it's a DUI. I've driven it very little, but it really hasn't had many issues other than dieseling after shutoff occasionally. It's always...

    Oil pan Compatability

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I want to make sure I have this right. For my 83 Fj60 2f, I need the updated pan that pretty much covers all years up to 89 12101-61013 And then I need the updated gasket 12151-61011 The site I'm using keeps telling me I need the 61010 gasket, but I'm guessing...

    Just picked up an 83 Fj60 :)

I wondered how it could be 5-6 quarts low. It has a piece of steel siliconed to the bottom of the oil pan. This just keeps getting worse. I should also mention that I bought this sight unseen on an auction, otherwise I probably would've passed lol

    Just picked up an 83 Fj60 :)

Still better than a jeep! Mine has a screwy suspension including a front sway bar mount busted on 1 side so it's not really doing its job, a half assed soa conversion and at least one broken body mount with tired shocks and springs. I'm sure it'd be Way better if everything were new and in good...

    Just picked up an 83 Fj60 :)

I like the way you think lol. He's afraid to drive the 80 due to all the time and money I have in it. If the 60 were stock it probably wouldn't be so bad. The suspension is all rigged up and it's missing tons of stuff under the hood. That pic is definitely a MySpace angle, it looks 10x worse...

    Just picked up an 83 Fj60 :)

Picked up this 83 Fj60 today, it was too cheap to pass up! I probably should have though. I planned on doing a father son build with it, but it needs way too much work before it's safe enough to put my son in. On the plus side, it makes my Fzj80 feel like a Cadillac lol. No idea what I'm going...

    Is it sooooo bad?

After working on rusty vehicles my entire life, I find it a luxury, not a necessity to work on a rust Free vehicle. But that also depends on just how bad it is. Rusted parts and breaking bolts are expected, but having a rusted through frame is a no go.
