    CDAN Salute

Yeah, he's the best. When I was a kid there was a family owned auto parts store around the corner. I could always count on getting the part, and a little (or even a lot!) of the info I needed to properly install it. C-Dan provides that kind of almost extinct customer service.

What Started your Land Cruiser Obsession?

What started my obsession? I had previously owned two Jeeps and finally realized I liked driving 4X4's more than fixing them. I think that sums it up...

    Towbar attachment for FJ62

I'm not at the truck right now, but IIRC there are no bolts on the face of the bumper. It only attaches from the top, and possibly the bottom. What I'm really wondering is if the face of the stock bumper is thick enough and strong enough to serve as a mounting point for the towbar points of...

    Towbar attachment for FJ62

I need to tow my 62 about 80 miles. Is the stock bumper strong enough to drill and attach the towbar attachment "eyes"? I was considering using some thick fender washers as additional load-spread backing. Has anyone mounted these to a stock bumper? Thanks, JR

Confirm Brake Bleed Order for 1988 FJ62

I searched the forum and found several different orders suggested. My FSM refers me to the "LC (Heavy-Duty) Repair Manual for Chassis and Body", which I don't have. Does anyone have that manual, and does it show a factory recommended order to bleed the brake system (with LSPV). Thanks! Joe

    Help! Brake problem!

Thanks for the info, Fly. Brake shoes were worn to the metal. I had a heck of a time getting the old drums off because everything was so tight, worn, and hanging up on grooves in the drums. I was finally able to get in the adjustment hole with two screwdrivers to release pressure on the star and...

    Help! Brake problem!

My son's FJ62 sat for about a week while on vacation. When he first drove it (to a friend's house - about 10 miles; then to the mall - another 10 miles), it was fine. But after his 3rd stop (about 25 miles total) the brake pedal went almost to the floor. He was able to stop and parked the truck...

    Help with Toyota part numbers

I just purchased some replacement parts from a vendor. I think they may have sent me the wrong parts because the numbers on the parts don't exactly match the numbers on my old parts. My old Igniter Ass'y has one tag with the following part numbers: 89620-14410 131100-4891, perpendicular to...

    Cruiser engine stopped abruptly

I'm not much of a mechanic, especially where diagnostics are concerned. My skill level is at the "can usually replace broken parts level". Is there a way to diagnose the distributor before I replace the coil, igniter, and ECU? I don't know about the codes, the car is still at the shop. Thanks!

    Cruiser engine stopped abruptly

Sorry, I guess I should have been more specific. It was the '62 that stalled. So far the '80 is going strong. Are your suggstions above applicable to the '62, or are they specific to an 80 series. And thanks, I am having a very merry Christmas. The significance of a broken car pales in...

    Cruiser engine stopped abruptly

While driving home a few days ago, my Cruiser stalled abruptly. No sputtering, it just stopped running. I coasted to a stop and attempted to re-start the Cruiser. It cranked strongly, but wouldn't start. I opened the hood and didn't see any apparent problems (no loose wires, hoses, etc...). With...
