    04+ Steering Rack Bushing Replacement

I know this is an old thread, but I have one question on install. My Nolathane kit came with 4 large washers. I put 1 on top and 1 on bottom (between bushing and frame). rack is moving still. Should I remove bottom washer and let the bushing rest against the frame for better grip?

    Ironman 4x4 coil springs

I got the TOY013B springs. I didn’t know all they sold were lift coils. I always try to go OEM or better on replacement products, and I thought I would try to support a smaller business rather than Toyota in this case. I guess I am the dumb consumer that plugs in year/make/model and expects the...

    Ironman 4x4 coil springs

I bought Ironman4x4 coil springs for my 2004 Lexus LX470. they seemed like a decent company to try for replacement suspension parts. I put in my information for year/make/model, and they sent me 0-440 load springs. I couldn’t get them on the car, so I had to take to my mechanic. They had to...

    Dilemma - Should I buy a 2021 Land Cruiser?

40 - check. 80 - check. 100 - check. New car/200/Heritage - no check. I’m old school and don’t like all the bells and whistles on newer cars. And can’t afford the steep prices. If I could afford the new LC, I would definitely get the Heritage with the BBS wheels.

    Lx470 passenger floor board leak..

I never had fuse box issues until I had windshield replaced. Now it gets soaked every time it sprinkles outside. Flashers were on this morning. I’ve had the horn blare nonstop before. The windshield place swears it’s not their problem. They even put on a Lexus windshield after I complained about...

All dash lights blinking and no A/C

Apparently, the new windshield has a leak that drips down on passenger fuse box. Went to car wash, and when I got home, flashers wouldn’t turn off. And passenger door won’t lock. So I popped the fuse panel cover, and it was water everywhere. Disconnected the battery and calling installer tomorrow.

All dash lights blinking and no A/C

I originally did a “visual” of the fuses with an LED flashlight. All looked good. So, just now I thought to pull suspect fuses and replace since I have a box of 120 various I bought on amazon. pulled gauges2 in passenger footwell, 10amp, and it was corroded. Not sure how or why - i pulled all...

All dash lights blinking and no A/C

2004 LX470 just turned 300k. started car and all dash lights blinking - ABS, VGRS, air bag, VSC, Cruise, 2nd start, height control OFF. And screen comes on into diagnostic mode. I checked all fuses in passenger kick panel, driver kick panel, and engine bay. Didn’t check any relays...

ASFIR Skid plates and front bumper

Good thing I found this thread. I was just thinking about getting a new plate since the last one rusted out about 3 years ago. No offroading - just Cape Cod beach driving, but I always worry that something might go under car and do some damage. I can wait 6 weeks. Thanks for the update.

Best replacement radiator for the money today...

0 ounces from the outlet. I pinched the line with needle nose vice grips and shoved a sharpie up the poop chute as soon as i disconnected. I took the nubs from the new radiator and put them on the old radiator when disconnecting in case any would drip out.

Best replacement radiator for the money today...

I ended up getting a CSF CS3006 from SummitRacing for $130 free shipping. After the two leaky Densos and the positive reviews on CSF, I went for that one. When I opened the box lid, it said something like factory pressure tested, and that put my mind at ease. Installed and put about 200 miles...

    180k mileage for daily driver

Only 180k miles! That's like brand-new. I bought my 2004 from original owner that literally had everything done at the dealer (turn signal bulbs, tires, wiper blades). I paid a little under $11k with 221k with no hesitation. Just watch out for the upper lip rust (it's a mid-west/rust belt...

Best replacement radiator for the money today...

Got the Denso from Rockauto. Installed and had two leaks on drivers side immediately. Box looked like hell. I had them send another one to replace. Box was perfect. There is a pinhole leak at the neck. Frustrating. Both made in China.

2004 LX AHC blinking "OFF" after long heavy load

My AHC worked flawlessly before leaving for vacation. We drove approximately 1000 miles each way with a heavy load - the LX ran in Low while we were travelling, and returned to N after we unloaded at the campground. When we got back, the AHC returned itself to the N position, but now it is...

    Another "which Cruiser" thread...

You might want to consider buying one off of Mud - very straight forward honest people. I bought the FJ40 sight unseen from San Diego with a few pics and descriptions within an hour of being posted. Same with the FJ80 from Sacramento. A couple of emails, and I felt comfortable enough...

    Another "which Cruiser" thread...

If you have an FJ40: 1. People will stop you at every light and say "Nice Jeep" or "I knew someone in high school that had one of those". 2. You will never get a speeding ticket. 3. You can do all of your own maintenance - you can't hurt a tractor. 4. Exhibition insurance (under 5000 miles)...

High miles with no AHC issues?

2004 with 266,500. Replaced fluid in the spring, but I think ride is clunkier than with the dark sludge that was in there. I think I have 11 ticks on the canister from low to high.
