    Sounds like a winner.

Rear lights leaking - (not the upper (3rd) brake light!)

@Slimm thanks for the heads up. After a couple of good rains, the hatch seal seems to have done it (knock on wood). I had previously considered it being the roof rack mounts since I'd had it off so sealed all of those with the 3M Dripsealer before replacing the hatch seal. It may be those. There...

Rear lights leaking - (not the upper (3rd) brake light!)

@Slimm thanks. So piecing together several pieces of information including guidance from my buddy who is a Lexus tech, here's what I went with. Centering the pink line on the factory gasket on the bottom of the opening yielded what you had said about the three drain dots going across the bottom...

    Rear Liftgate Leaking

@r3run33 Is there anyway I can get you to take some pics of the critical areas of the weatherstrip so I know how to orient mine so it doesn't leak? Specifically there are a couple areas that have a reinforced pinch and some apparent drain holes and cutouts?

Rear lights leaking - (not the upper (3rd) brake light!)

@n55luvr I've got exactly the same problem. Is there a trick to installing the weatherstrip. I've had the rear hatch weatherstrip all the way off and attempted to reinstall with the 3M weatherstrip adhesive, but still leaks and I can see the water coming down the outside of the weatherstrip up...

    Leaking Rr hatch

@BillWms01 I've had the rear hatch weatherstrip all the way off and attempted to reinstall with the 3M weatherstrip adhesive, but still leaks and I can see the water coming down the outside of the weatherstrip up top then ending up on the inside of the weatherstrip on the bottom like a gutter...

How to properly install Weatherstrip on Rear Tailgate

@agaisin what did you end up doing as far as putting on the new weatherstrip. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. Got the 3rd light sealed up, but still leaking. I've had the rear hatch weatherstrip all the way off and attempted to reinstall with the 3M weatherstrip adhesive, but still...

Body trim polishing & correcting compounds

@2001LC I was reading your thread on your newest find (the garnet '07) and was impressed with your detailing skills. I wonder if you have any suggestions on our 4runner. It is an 01 with 114K miles. Spent most of it's time in Florida so the underside looks great! The top however has begun to...

4 Speed Trans Torque Converter Lock Up Speed

For those with a Pre '03 100s, what speed does your torque converter lock up under regular acceleration? If I am not getting on it, mine seems to lock up not long after the truck shifts into 4th -almost concurrently. This happens to be around 38 mph. Wondering if this is normal. I have an '01...

FJ100 Landcruiser Door Lock Actuator Motor Swap Instructions

Swapping out the motors is easy. Just pull the old one off of its poles, pull the gear attached to the motor off and swap the gear onto the new motor. For those wondering, my truck is a 2001. The motor had the collar on it. I'm pretty sure either way, the gear only goes on the shaft in one...

FJ100 Landcruiser Door Lock Actuator Motor Swap Instructions

Much mythology has been made about the mysterious clamshell, getting it apart, what motor to use. How to glue it back together. This honestly, is the easiest part of the job. Here's what I did. Remove the three screws attaching the actuator to the assembly. One on top and two on the backside...

FJ100 Landcruiser Door Lock Actuator Motor Swap Instructions

With the handle loose open it to be able to clear the outer door opening and pull the handle out a bit to give you room to work. Then remove the bottom rod (I think that was the lock rod) Then remove the latch rod. A number of people have mentioned difficulty with this step. With the handle...

FJ100 Landcruiser Door Lock Actuator Motor Swap Instructions

Remove door handle by taking out two bolts. You don't have to, but it made removal of the rods a bunch easier. Although it made reassembly more difficult in getting the bolt in the second picture reattached. The first is really easy to reach. The second can be accessed through a hole in the...

FJ100 Landcruiser Door Lock Actuator Motor Swap Instructions

There is a 23 page post on the forum about this if you need more information like which motors you need (although at this point there seems to be a one size fits all solution for the motor from member jonharis). Door Lock Actuator Replacement It took me forever to get through it. I thought I...
