    Builds "LUXURY CRAWLER/PRERUNNER" FJ80 mid-engine

    Coolest 80 I've seen.

    Suspension Seat choice

I have some out of a Joyner and they are awesome. I'd say if you are on a budget, whatever pops up cheap on CL. That was my method. Don't forget to check the RV section.

    74 Land Cruiser FJ40 on a 2002 Tacoma, advice?

I've been trying to graft body panels from a 40 and 60 into an 80 and it sucks. I think that a full on body swap would be much easier. For the wheelbase issue, maybe do a 45 bed or tray? And as far as IFS goes, more power to you. But I think that you should pull an IRS out of a Sequoia, then...

    Builds Project X²

Awesome. Next up how about a 55 on a 100 series chassis?

Cut the FAT....80 series on a diet

A power passenger seat is like a boulder. They are crazy heavy.

    60 onto an 80

What about coilovers? You're in for a lot of work no matter what you do.

    Looking for universal headlight recommendations

Harbor freight, if you use a coupon, makes some oblong offroad lights for under $20. Check your offroad mags for the coupon. They actually put out a decent amount of light. They come with the wiring too.

    fj40 body on tacoma or?

I'm thinking trophy truck 45. It could be sweet, just for a different purpose. Solid front axles are rare for a reason. I love them though. For the record I would put a body on a ifs chassis but never pull the solid axle out for ifs . Its not hardcore if we stick to the same formulas, but mostly...

    fj40 body on tacoma or?

So are you thinking IFS? Because doing a SAS and a body swap is pretty ambitious. I honestly think IFS might be cool given the right circumstances. I have an 80 and an unnamed non-Toyota (came with the wife) that is independent front and rear and it's pretty nice having that comfort. I'd like...

    Builds Project X²

What's the story with the skidplate? I heard that Slee made some prototypes and they never went into production. I have one that I got from someone on Mud, but was debating selling it and going with an IPOR.

Cut the FAT....80 series on a diet

Just took some scrap metal in today, and after I dumped it I was at 5260. That was with 35s and my spare, no fenders (which weigh nothing btw) no bumpers or rear seats. And including me and about 20 lbs of junk in the front seat. (I'm 180 when it's a good day)

    Builds ''ToyLex''

That's awesome. Are you going to turn these into suspension seats?

    Doved Yota's... particularly FJ80's

You going to have to give some consideration to your intake too. I've debated an in cab "snorkel". I listened to the intake noise and it's not that bad. Should easily be drowned out by my exhaust. On the other side, there is a mess of junk to be moved. Not sure what is to be gained from doing a...

    Doved Yota's... particularly FJ80's

I'm with you on that. I took off my outer fenders, cut the lip and folded it up around the inner fender, and next up are tube fenders. It's on hold for a little while because my wife's truck needed some attention. You have a bender? There are some pics in this thread...

    Doved Yota's... particularly FJ80's

I'm doing a similar build to the set up you have now. I love the minimalist approach. I've used the money I've made selling parts I don't need to get cool stuff. How drastic are you going?

Just throwing a few parts together

    I dig it.

    Builds Hj47/80 series build.

My dream is a 55 front clip with a 45 bed on an 80 with a 5.7 from a tundra in there. Throw in some plush Lexus interior. And a 60 to drive around till it's finished.
