I once had a creak that was driving me nuts for months, same thing, only while pedaling. Bb, cranks, pedals, headset, shock bushings, none of it helped.
Turns out it was a loose derailleur hanger...
I'm using a Lezyne as well, is been working great for years.
Regarding pressure, the actual amount isn't that important, just get it to where you're comfortable, and make sure to use the same gauge every time. At such low pressures, and with the cheap gauges built into the pumps, different...
Yeah, the bike's been fun and seems to be indestructible. Seriously, it's been tossed down the mountain without me a good handful of times and just keeps going.
Finally gave it a rinse, so here's some photos of how it's held up. The bars had the least prep work done on them and it shows...
Better than I expected, actually. It's been crashed 7 or 8 times, dropped, shuttled, chair lifted, wedged into a gondola, hit with rocks and ridden in rain, light snow and mud over that year. There's a few nicks in the paint, most notably on the seat/chain stays.
Here's some photos from a...
Thanks. Wont be doing much riding until next year now. We will likely have snow by the time I'm good to go again.
If I can hit the snowboard reasonably well at least I can be somewhat active this winter.
Been a couple decades since I broke a bone.
It was made by Specialized, probably in Taiwan like 90% of bikes are, in 2014. In bike terms it's now totally outdated, thanks to ever evolving standards ridiculousness.
And, the next day was gorgeous. Here's a pov clip that doesn't accurately show how steps things are at all. Upper Bike Thief to Bin Logdin. Lower Bike Thief was closed to prepare for the Canada Cup DH race in July. I'm the one in black that's being followed.
Ain't an action shot, but putting my freshly painted Demo 8 through its paces at Fernie opening weekend. 10mm or so of rain made for a pretty wet n wild day. After all this rain, the forecast is for hot and sunny tomorrow: muggy, hot and hero dirt.
I'm a no stickers kinda guy most of the time. My vehicles have usually gotten debadged in the past too. I will likely leave it as is, potentially repainting next year if it turns out my prep work was garbage.
Bored at work today so I thought I'd share a recent project that pulled me away from the truck.
The scuffed, scratched and beaten look of the used Demo 8 I got last year wasn't doing it for me, so I did something about it.
Paint stripper, clean and rough up, primed, sanded, painted, painted...
When using my wife's car I used a Yakima on the roof rack. Then I got distracted once and forgot that it was up there and had trouble entering the garage. :bang:
No more roof rack, damage to car, damage to bike, damage to pride.
What kind of budget are you thinking? Most of the big name brands in mountain bikes are doing an E-mtb of some sort these days, which would be the pedal assist style, not full moto. A bike like that would be in the 40-50lb range, but also in the $3000+ ballpark.
Would love to get out to whistler. Our family is going on a 2 week camping and resort trip to the island, but we are driving through whistler and squamish on the way home. I get to maybe rent a bike and hit some stuff near Nanaimo for one day when the wife has help wrangling the young ' uns...
