Quit screwing around with the Haynes. Get the FSM and the EWD manuals. Don't look back. Ebay is a good source. FSM for 1985: TOYOTA 1985 TRUCK & 4RUNNER SHOP MANUAL SERVICE REPAIR PICKUP BOOK | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/233981716015, $78.78 EWD for 1986: OEM Repair Maintenance Wiring...

As in the gauge sender? It's on top of the gas tank.

Interesting. The 22RE uses 89428-28030, and I'm showing it's still available.

The gauge sender is on the intake manifold between cylinders 2 and 3. On the 1985 trucks there is a second port that can be used for an aftermarket gauge. Location of the factory temp sender. Note this a later sender (1994), but the location is the same. Picture of my Autometer gauge sender...

Well, I'll be. I had to wander out to my 2FE for a look. I didn't realize the 3FE used the same sensor. On early 22RE's it's also mounted on top of the thermostat housing.

Looks right. Here is what I fixed my harness with. https://www.yotashop.com/electrical-connector-toyota-round-single-prong-connector-with-wire-kit-1090/ The sensor in your pic looks like the AC temperature switch.

Yep, right next to the oil filter. Uses the same connector as the AC temperature switch on top of the thermostat.

Too dark to take a picture. The plug is on the driver's side, real close to the brake booster. The ox sensor is a big deal and a major part of the fuel management system.

Factory Electrical Wire Diagram manual. the 1986 manual works great. You can get them new on ebay. I think I paid $35.

Not on my truck. PO installed. You will need to chase the wires.

You need a new distributor. As far as the wires. I've doctored your pic. The check connector used to time the truck and pull codes is in the blue box. Those wires should not be touching. The fuel pump test connector is in red, and appears to be OK. The other two wires go to a three wire...

PICTURES will help us understand what "The PO put a bolt through bracket beside the dizzy that was too long and it screwed through the dizzy housing slightly. When I took the bolt out the dizzy pulled out and the part of it where the o ring is was completely broke all the way around" means. As...
