Thank you! And yes that is correct. There is an extra piece of plywood on a hinge that with the passenger seat pushed fully forward flips over to form the end of the platform. The seatback makes a nice "headboard" of sorts. It works well and I am 6'2". I made a very crude version of...
I’ve had the bj74 for just over 7 years now. After an initial cross country trip I got home and tore most of the interior apart.
Over the past couple months it’s gotten new t-case gears, new clutch, and completed all the wiring and interior reinstalled and cargo box/sleeping platform...
Whenever I actually drive the BJ 74 I say to myself, man you should really drive this truck more, it is a lot of fun!
I’ve got the boost Adjusted to 12 pounds and it spools up very quickly and smoothly, temps on long hard uphills haven’t exceeded 1150.
I remember reading the 70 Series...
Exhaust/turbo leak in the engine bay is fixed!
Thanks for the advice and link to the Mcmaster hardware. I bought a bag of 50 10x1.25 nuts, dropped about 10 on the floor trying to get the two started, but finally got it sorted out. Took it for a test drive and the turbo spools quickly and...
Thanks for the help guys! Im a carpenter not a mechanic so I appreciate the feedback and guidance.
I need to order some m10x1.25 nuts today. It looks like the oem nuts are just standard. No flange or lock washer? Is this correct? Should it have some locktite?
Pretty sure I found the source of the leak. Of the four bolts, two were completely missing and one was super loose.
anyone know how to get at the two on the left hand side of the vehicle? I can barely get a nut started on the one, not sure I could even start the other!
On one hand, it's so much fun to drive a 70-series in the snow without all those new-fangled traction control electronics!
On the other hand, I cringe and think IT'S RUSTING!!!
Nice lineup there Beno! Hopefully the zoning officer doesn't fuss at you for running a Toyota dealership in your driveway!
Pretty sure I saw that Bj74 sitting at performance unlimited in August last year.
Thank you very much sir!!!
Do you think the 20amp DOOR fuse is for power windows and locks?
I wonder what the radio is tied into.... one of my reasons for asking was wondering if I could steal the radio 24V power to supply my dual USB charger. I got the Bluesea 24V USB, but not sure how...
Should there be a cover with labels over the fuse panel in the driver footwell of my bj74?
If the answer is yes, does anyone have a photo with the cover and labels they'd be willing to share?
Thanks!
