What bracket did you come up with for the aftermarket tank? Any signs of melting from the heat? Looking to do the same and can cut a bracket on my plasma table. If enough people are interested I can make a run of a few.

All it’d need is a simple sheet metal bracket. I might mock one up then cut it on my plasma table.

Earlier this summer on a super hot day the cruiser fumble idled and died. The newish o2 sensor threw a too rich code. I figured the o2 failed or the MAF was dirty from a dusty trip. monitoring the wideband everything was close enough. Doing maintenance today before I drive to Montana next week...

Check the sensor harness itself. Mine didn't seat well initially. Also where it goes into the module, those plugs were not the best.

Does it come out boiling hot for maximum cleaning efficiency?

For what it’s worth - removed cheap catch can. Took apart all intake hoses and cleaned thoroughly. Reset all clamps, cleaned PCV and installed new seal. Truck is hitting 7psi quick again and idling much better. All I can think was there was a small boost leak that was presenting itself over...

As in the stock configuration is suboptimal? Went wheeling this weekend. Had a ton of oil going into the turbo again. motor only has 40k on a rebuild so i know its not a blowby issue. Not sure what to do at this point. Try the both lines pre turbo or leave as is with dual catch cans.

dang - i took some time off mud and a whole lot of PCV conversations happened. I ditched my catch can and so far it seems like the oil buildup has reduced quite a bit. I'm really interested to hear if anyone caps the stock port and does both into the intake tract and how it goes. This is...

the catch can should go between PCV and intake, as well as on the breather if you have a 2 port. If your catch can doesnt flow freely, you end up with a venturi effect where it either sucks oil into the breather, or uses your breather instead of the PCV to relieve pressure (which is what i think...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I just removed that exact can from my turbo setup per advice in this thread about my oil in turbo issue. It caused enough pressure differential to send oil through the breather and thus into the turbo. I may reinstall with less filter material in it and...

Not on the breather, on the PCV. Seemed like the better option as it's where usually you get the most oil vapor vs the breather. After talking to joey i'm wondering if my can is too restrictive and then causing most to go to the breather instead of the PCV.

Odd. Hopefully the turbo seal didn't somehow blow already. Going to get rid of my catch can and check the PCV and see if that helps.

Anyone seen oil start to build up post compressor? just noticed this yesterday. Have a catch can run off the PCV. No leaks at connections. All I can think is the breather is pulling oil mist?

I had the p0171 pop up on mine once on a long pull and haven't seen it since. Going to swap o2s to see if that helps. Getting full boost though, so wonder if they're related?

I regularly am seeing 6.1psi, with the occasional blip to 7. I was seeing higher consistent boost levels loaded down pulling grades. If i'm empty and flooring it usually only see 5 or so since the motor isn't under enough load to boost to 7 before shifting. This can be a lot of things. is...

I'll check the maf. at one point driving into a headwind the wideband was reading a steady 12 at 2-3 constant PSI holding 70mph. Fueling i'll check out for sure. Thinking i'm going to pull the intake manifold and put new gaskets in (though they're not old, i did have to remove/reinstall at one...

No fuel cut, but have a gauge that screams at me over 7.5PSI. Pretty quick way to back off.

Exactly. It'd be a leak post turbo, pre cylinder. Not seeing any leaks on the manifold or TB but going to replace both gaskets just to see.

Well - finally threw my first turbo related CEL. P0172 - System too rich bank 1. This was after driving up rattlesnake pass outside of SLC. Cleared the CEL and it hasn't come back. Spent the last week driving from Seattle - Zion (UT) straights through, across UT over the week, then shot back...
