Sorry to hear your troubles with the tank Mike. Could it be possible to find an early 40 tank and have the 45 filler neck grafted on to it?
Here is a NAPA hose number that should work for the filler neck. Obviously you will have to trim it. Good luck!
There is a 45 specific kit as the passenger seat in 45s is different due to being notched for the gas tank inlet. Strangely it’s like $100 more than the same 40 kit... guess that’s the premium you pay for having a 45 :rolleyes:

‘68 brought a lot of changes for the 40 series so it makes sense to me that is likely when they switched colors.
