Too little too late. But, I've got the Icon stage 3 on my 2012. Had them about 6 months. Not any extreme use, but a fair amount of rough trails at high speeds. No leaks. Everything is holding up well. Only thing negative (I knew buying them) Icons are soft at high speed and stiff at low...
Started trying to get parts for this again and ran into a few pot-holes. I've been advised it's not possible (won't sell only the LCA's) to do the l/t LCA's w/o replacing coilovers to custom buildouts, mandatory replacement of the axles, after-market UCA's, and the other misc stuff they sell...
Hi all,
I've been looking around a few places and have yet to find answer on the drop difference between UCA's that was backed by any numbers/measurements.
I have the newer model SPC UCA's on my FJC. Have had them for almost a year. No complaints. When doing some research on other items, l/t...
Dude! You were my only hope!
I'm pretty sure all the fab shops made everything for the 2006-2009 and assumed it was all the same parts. Fair amount of things changed in the 2010+
Good info. This is on my short list. Need to do something for the front links as well. Took the swaybar off about a month ago and wasn't super happy with how high speed turns felt.
Hey all,
I know a few people have installed the older FJC steering racks (2006-2009) in 2010+ FJC's. Are they a bolt for bolt swap? Or do you have to modify anything? (I've read mixed articles on this)
I'm pretty close to needing a swap, and have some tie rod parts that are not compatible with...
Pretty normal for Toyota to discontinue a vehicle in the US but continue production outside. 80 series was made for many years after discontinuation here.
I had both my 95 FZJ80 and 2012 FJC up for sale in July of this year. It was going to be a whichever sells first. Someone made an offer on the FJC first, I chickened out and waited another month to sale the FZJ80.
I'm also running 35s with no issues other than replacing tie rod ends and ball joints that already had 115k on them. Biggest "issue" I can think of is having to chop body mounts. But imo 35s take it to a much desired off-road look. But I do feel like my travel has suffered. Hence the thread.
I can say on the 1GRE-FE dual vvti that premium makes a big difference. And since it takes usually a full tank to cycle it, it sucks when you don't use premium (like when your wife borrow your car and put 85 in )
Good info! thanks for the videos.
Has anyone had experience with the All-Pro setup? It's between that and TC right now.
Also, anyone know of an L/T heavy load coilspring for the front? I'm partial to Icon, but have not seen the combo. Was thinking of dual shocks for it.
2010+ gets a pretty significant boost to power as well. It does require 91+ octane to map to the 272hp. But it's certainly noticeable.
There is also other upgrades to steering and other items. Also I believe they changed how the A-TRAC and locker combination works.
Who has installed a long travel control arm setup on their FJC? I'm researching the different ones out there but have not seen many FJCs actually running any.
The ones I've looked at are from All-Pro, Chaos Fabrication, Camburg, and Dirt King. I'm leaning towards All-Pro setup right now. It's...
I've owned a 94 & 95 80 series. There is loads of good and bad with both.
80s - just built to last (on the outside). SFA is big, but not as much as many make it out to be. They're also way under powered, and 95+ makes super or tubo more than most can justify. Interior was made to be luxury...
I ended up measuring the original length, and then added 1/4 inch to the panhard rod.
End of the day, after I got all the other stuff replaced I had someone else do an alignment. I know they made adjustments to the panhard rod, so I'm not sure what it ended up with.
I've sold it since or I'd...
