My brother just acquired a really nice low mileage 1982 Toyota 4x4. The problem is the lower valance was missing. It seems to be in doing a quick google search they are very rare, even aftermarket. Any of you guys have any help on where to locate one?
I sold my beloved 87 FJ60 "Peppermint Patty" yesterday after 13 years. I had it on Craigslist to sell and got a call from a really cool photographer here in Portland wanting to use her in a photo shoot. I had a hot buyer from out of town so I had to sell her yesterday. I told the photographer I...

I am getting my beloved 1987 FJ60 "Peppermint Patty" ready to sell unfortunately. I have the knock off euro mirrors on there, the old ones that were made in Taiwan I believe. I lost the corner cover for the passenger side one when I took it off and can't find it. does anyone know if you can...
Decided to take the plunge and upgrade my brake system. I got the 4runner booster and t100 master over the weekend. I started to try and mount it last night but was having trouble with the upside down method described by a lot of you. The vacuum intake seemed to be in the way of the...
Haven't posted on here in a while, honestly only drive the cruiser on the weekends rarely, as I have a work car. I've had something bug me since I put my chevy V-8 w/ tbi in two years ago. It always starts out at the right idle speed of about 6-700 but once it warms up it is about 1200 rpm...
I'm having issues with my 87 FJ60. I have a tbi conversion and have had low voltage on the gauge for the last few weeks. The gauge used to show 14 but is now at about 10. I replaced the alternator and the red fusible link wire was toast to the battery. I replaced that as well. I tried to...
Just wondering if anyone has had to replace their rear window on their 60? I cracked mine yesterday and am having a hard time with glass shops finding an aftermarket one. The weather is hella bad here right now and I don't want to wait to have a used one shipped.
I've finally got my V8 conversion somewhat road worthy, took it out for the first test drive today. It's revving really high, I was doing 35mph in 5th gear at about 3000 rpm. Not acceptable. I didn't have time to adjust the Mark's adapter today, but that's my first thing to check. Anyone...
Just wondering which Toyota wire I should use to power the external coil for my TBI? I took a picture of the three wires, and there's one of the coil itself. The gray connector is the 12V coil power supply, the large pink wire goes to ignition "on" power for the distributor, the white wire is...
Just pondering the location for my ECM and was wondering for those who have done TBI conversion where they put there's? Mine is the old style metal shelled one, not the new plastic ones. I would like to put it in the engine bay, but I'm worried about moister getting in there or overheating...
Just wondering for those who have put a Chevy V8 in, which hose do they hook up to the block and which one to the water pump? (Mine is an old school engine where one of the hoses goes to the water pump.) There are obviously two, one that is connected to the heater control valve, and the one...
I'm getting near the home stretch with the completion of my v8 conversion. I've seen other people use a fitting to use the stock high pressure GM power steering hose into the steering box. Anyone know where to get one?
So I'm getting really close to finishing the V8 installation but ran into a snag today. As you can see by the pictures there isn't enough clearance to slide the engine down between the frame without cutting one of the mounts. Is this normal on a FJ60 installation with a Gen I GM motor...
Just wondering if anyone has fabbed a clutch return spring for their Mark's kit? I finally got the right pressure plate and installed it. I adjusted it best I could, but I still am worried about the bearing touching the pressure plate teeth when the clutch is not engaged. I left about 3/16"...
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this? I put the flywheel on and went to install the roller bearing that came with the kit. As you can see from the picture it's way too big to fit in the hole, and way too small to sit outside the hole. I bought the flywheel new, and I thought...
So, I'm in the middle of rebuilding my transfer case and I had to take the top off my H55 to realign the reverse gear. I'm having a terrible time seating the transmission top flush to rebolt it. Is there a certain trick? It's sitting with about 1/8" gap all the way around.
I'm in the middle of re-assembling the transfer case and I'm having issues with the gears lining up. If you look at the pictures, the gears on the rear output shaft are about 1/8" higher than the idler shaft. I've checked and rechecked everything and am stumped. I took out the bearing...
I was wondering if anyone knows a trick for removing these? I'm mid rebuild and tried to make my own special service tool aka angle iron to hold the shafts still. The nuts are on so tight i bent the angle iron when I tried to turn the socket wrench.
