Thanks for the info so far! I don't mind cutting and moving mounts around to get something to work, but I am hoping to be able to re-use the U-bolts, spring pads, and such. With the way things are now I am trying to keep the cost down by using Recycled parts(junkyard gold) so that I can still...
Hey All!
It's once again time to replace the saggy worn out leaf springs on my Fj-55 again. After considering the price these little gems are going for on the aftermarket  I am now looking for a junk yard donor option. Has anyone found a good spring out there that will be a little stiffer...
The way I usually do it is to place the inner axle in a chunk of 1.5" pipe 3" longer than the shaft. Wad up some paper towel to place in the open end of the pipe and than slam the whole thing down on a chunk of wood a few times until the separate.
It should look like your backyard, it was fairly close! That pic is of the exit of the " secret canyon trail" that as on the cover of crawl magazine last year(trail not truck).

Hey guy just wanted to let you know there's a 83 FJ-60 at what used to be Portland Auto Wrecking on Columbia Blvd in Portland, Or. It is know a U-Pull it type place, and the prices are great! They quoted me $53.00 for a third member, or $115.00 for the whole front axle. At the time I thought...
I had a little to much fun early in the season and broke off my last spare pinion. My goal is to get the truck back on the trail cheaply! I have some spare parts that you guys might want to trade a 3rd member for? Front axle shafts, fine spline birfields, knuckles
If anyone wants to trade...
Try Home, He has everything you need! The boots that he has made for him are a higher quality and finish than the Harvester ones, and they come with a stainless steel ring.
Actually this is Rod Peters 40. It has a corvette 350 in it. But his brother has a FJ-45 pick-up with the 454 in it. Good guy's, and great wheeling buddy's.
Thanks! As for the lower hinges the stock ones are actually pretty nice, it keeps the doors from always closing/opening on its own. And the span that the door opens is good with me. On my commute home today I was thinking of different ways for the for the latch to work. For my application I...
Hey Guy's, it's been a while sense I've posted any new stuff. So I though It was time that I get back to work on the cruiser for the upcoming Wheeling weather. My first project that I'm starting on is a set of tube doors. Everything is 1.5" .120 HREW tubing, I guess I should buy some more...
I love treads like this! They get the creative juices flowing. The way I mounted mine worked out well for me. It's out of the way but still easy to get to when needed.
Who's got a AA twin stick set-up, or any other type in your cruiser? And how well do you like it? If your not stock what combo are you running?
