2F block ID Early or Late

Thanks for the reply. Yes it has 3 bolt mounting boss. That means post 84? It doesn't have an oil pan so I want to make sure I'm looking for the right parts.

2F block ID Early or Late

I got this engine with my 83 FJ60. The #6 rod spun the bearing and damaged the crank journal. I was thinking of a rebuild for a 2FE project but don't know if this is early pre 85 block or 85 up block?

Should ends of exhaust manifold rotate?

I have a vacuum leak at intake manifold and would like to put on a different intake exhaust manifold I have. The exhaust manifold front elbow rotates under its own weight. Should I get new seals/springs for that end? I'm trying to seal up egr and make a pcv hose nipple on this manifold before...

Manual vs. Power Steering Pros and Cons

I remember those... Had to have someone on the running board to help you turn the wheel in the motorpool to park the damn thing. Good times.

    Coolent flush vs add

Our cooling systems hold about 4 gallons. So after flushing you should add 2 gallons of coolant, then top off with distilled water. That way you get real close to 50/50 mix. Cast iron is not prone to electrolysis like aluminum is, so tap water in your cooling system is not going to be the end...

    buy back

I had my 60 tank done a year ago last June. Just have to supply the part numbers (from this site) because the "kit" is no longer available. It took them about four days to locate a tank, then they called when all the parts were in. First time I filled it up gas poured out of it, they had left...

    Engine refuses to crank over

I don't think he has a key for ignition and is relying solely on the remote start to start the truck. You could still check for power at the little solenoid activation wire when you activate the remote start. If no power then the remote start has a bad connection somewhere, possibly on that...

    Alternator failure?

Alternator has diodes to keep charge in the battery and not let the charge back out when the truck is off. If the diodes are bad like the test showed, then the charge in the battery goes back out through the alternator overnight. Also with bad diodes voltage could be 14.4 but just static and...

    Why dont more Mudders RV?

I think I need a turbo for my 7.3 L IDI:rolleyes:....... 25 mph on some of the secondary road passes that I traverse just ain't cuttin' it. And really, now that I think about it, I should be trailering my towed rigs instead of flat towing. A trailer with brakes because I don't know of any way to...
