How do you clean your synthetic winch line/rope without damage?
Just looking for some ideas.. I looked around in the search function but couldn't find any other threads.
Thanks,
Andrew
I already went to an electronics store and they had similar pins but not the right size. I didn't think about Radio Shack  I'll keep at it. I had emailed Warn but it was late Friday so I expect they won't get back to me until Monday.
I'm not having any problems with the pins. I just...
Thanks. :) Well I was thinking that someone already dealt with this and they might share their knowledge. Warn buys their parts from somewhere so there has to be another source. My three wire switch works fine so I don't want to spend money I don't have to. I did sent Warn an email and am...
Where can I find new pins that go into the Warn switch plug. What is the proper nomenclature and size? I'm looking for the female side. Here is a link for a picture of what I'm looking for.

There are a few video's on youtube.com search for winch solenoid. Fairly simple. I had a similar problem. Mine was the three wire switch which calls for the solenoid base plate to be grounded. I grounded the plate and worked fine. I know some of the more modern 4 and 5 wire switches do not...
Sounds like you are looking for synthetic. I'll throw this out there.. I just took off 100ft of steel cable off my warn M8000, replaced it with synthetic. It is in good shape. Picture in link. 016 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Let me know if you are interested.

Warn got back to me... Yes their new style contact solenoid is made by Albright in England. :) Part #34971 is made for their industrial winch and if purchased it has no control box to go with it. You would have to wire it in to everything and likely put it in your engine bay for protection. Part...
I sent Warn an email so hopefully they might have some insight on the specs.
I've have a few questions for you about your contact solenoids. I own a M8000 and it is about 15 years old. It has sat for the last 7 years. I just took it apart, replaced the seals and re-greased it...
I spoke with Warn. They advised not to use too much grease as it will cause more strain on the motor causing more heat. They were very specific as to use green molly grease too. Also there are condensations issues with winches heating up so the moisture issue is kind of unavoidable. They went as...
There was some discussion about those Superwinch solenoids that they were actually chinese copies. I was looking to see if anyone had any actual evidence opposed to speculation.
Couple of questions for you..
Did you guys get any more information on the authenticity of the Superwinch? Warn? I noticed the price difference.
I'm looking to replace my old mechanical solenoid on my Warn M8000. I see the Albright DC88P seems to be the popular model. Who in the US sells...
